After seeing 4.5 star review me and my wife decided to try the 4.5 star curry in tun-“curry” . Right from the meet and greet ( which never happened) to the end of meal the service was awful. Perhaps the server needs to do a basic training in hospitality.
Ordered non- veg platter as entree and Lamb rogan josh with naan for mains.
food took a lot of time to come.
entree + mains came together.
non veg platter came with chicken tikka and lamb chop ( should have chicken tikka, lamb seek kebab and lamb chop) . They did not have lamb chop so they added extra chicken tikka.
the marination itself was bland in both lamb and chicken. Lamb was over cooked and dry like a shoe sole.
lamb korma had and under cooked spice flavour and the pieces of lamb felt like it was chucked away in the corner of freezer and upon order it was defrosted in a microwave and tossed in the undercooked curry sauce.
*Naan was okish but most of all i liked the diet coke which was spot on.
*When my wife went to pay she asked the server to convey her feedback regarding the undercooked lamb rogan josh to the Chef and all the server said was something in the lines of: ‘yeah I’ll tell the Chef that’. Considering we did not even feel the dish was safe to eat, one would expect a refund but that was the least of the issues so we just chose to leave and never to return.
Final review: If you want to spend your $$$ on Indian food which actually tastes acceptable compared to this one do your self a favour and grab a curry sauce from woolies and you will be...
Read moreOK, I dont usually write reviews , if I dont like a place I have been to i simply just dont go back.I tend to vote with my feet.
It was New years eve 2020, sitting in the pub next door ( The Bellevue ) having a celebrationary couple of cold ones with the good wife, as it was my Birthday in a matter of hours, we had decided to go next door to the Royal Indian Restaurant, we had been there previously , perhaps two years previously we gave them a call to ask if (a) there was a table available to which there was and (b) what the rules were with BYO, and they replied , bring your own Beer and Wine (win - win).
We ordered two entrees and three main dishes, I'm 55, now and love , no, adore my Indian food and that night the food was delivered in good time and would have to be one of if not the best indian i have had , actually both times I have been there it has been brilliant ,i have been holidaying in Forster / Tuncurry for over 45years I have seen alot of restaurants come and go , but i will now make it a mission to go there everytime I go there to twin towns.
I can comfortably give the Royal 4 stars, and next time Im going to join in the singing that we could here coming from the kitchen, after ive had a few celebrationary cold...
Read moreWe tried the Royal Indian Cuisine restaurant for takeaway recently and were utterly impressed. The BEST naan bread available on the Mid North Coast - absolutely outstanding!! We tried the mango chicken (mild), which our children loved and devoured, and the butter chicken (medium) for ourselves, which we were very pleased with. The ratio of meat to sauce was just perfect, and the chicken was very tender and delicious. Now for the naan breads, they were phenomenal! We haven't had naan bread like theirs since we were in Singapores Little India precinct, top notch quality, and cooked to perfection. The mango lassi was also a wonderfully magical treat. We look forward to trying more of their menu selections on our next visit. Thank you again to the restaurant for a fantastic takeaway experience. You are definitely our favourite Indian restaurant in...
