Ali Baba Kebab & Pizzeria Yarrawonga — Restaurant in Victoria

Majority of food was absolutely deplorable. Received a seafood basket that was supposed to contain flake as the fish but contained a flathead tail instead after calling the place to ask earlier if it was indeed flake which was confirmed. Then also ordered the loaded 'beef' cheese and gravy chips which were absolutely nothing of a resemblance to beef but shredded ham instead, absolutely disgusting, maybe put your kebab chicken or lamb on instead. I feel pretty bad about writing this review because in the past all the food we've had from here has been great however this time around it wasn't even close to good enough, except for the overpriced $3 potato cake which was actually rather nice. If you're going to offer other things than kebabs and charge a price for them please try and get them right. The only positive thing is these guys have excellent and friendly service and can't fault them on that. Won't be in a hurry to order from here again.

In response to the owners reply I asked specifically if the seafood basket contained flake and was told yes.... As for the below photo explain how 'shredded beef' looks and tastes like shredded ham? And yes both items ended up in the bin where...

I’m a new customer to Ali baba’s. My 2nd time today. I ordered the large deluxe lamb & salad kebab…along with a drink. My kebab was absolutely delicious & very filling. In my opinion as a ‘foodie’ I found the price for the large kebab I got, Very reasonable considering that it was so filling and delicious. I would happily recommend this fine establishment to anyone. Also I ordered by phone, not the app. I found the staff/Management very helpful and courteous. Don’t take notice of bad reviews. Give it a go. For yourselves and make your own mind up from that. Great tasting HSP, good chip to cheese ratio and good quality meat. In enviro foam as well rather than poly which I appreciate. open 7 days a week and friendly staff. Good other selection of menu items as well. My only critique is they built my HSP in the wrong order (chips, cheese, meat, sauce is the correct order) so I was left with a bit of unmelted cheese to fend off before I could get to the goods underneath.
