Crown Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Was extremely disappointed with the service and attitude of the Manager and his staff while waiting at the main bar to get a drink. The staff kept serving patrons from beside and behind me while totally ignoring me standing right in front of them at the bar. When I did mentioned something the tall older barman said calm down we'll get to you when we're ready as we are busy or we dont have to serve you at all. They were not busy with mostly just 1 person deep across the bar. I myself have worked in bars and stadiums in Sydney suburbs and Kings Cross with 6-8 people deep at the bar and we handled it more efficiently than this small country town pub with lots to learn. When I returned to our table I was informed that the rude barman was actually the pub manager who in my opinion needs a major attitude adjustment himself, so no wonder the other staff couldn't perform their duties on a larger scale than normal. Beautiful new venue. Was recommended the BBQ platter. It was mostly fine, although the lamb ribs were like rubber and close to inedible. Chicken wings ok, cornbread quite nice. Smoked beef cheeks very good. Overall a good venue, will update the score once the staff have found their feet and aren't clueless. Witnessed a young staff member in the main bar making drinks for a waiter's table pour a glass of wine, put it on the bar for the waiter to pick up, realise it had a mark on the rim, wipe the mark off with a random cloth that was sitting on the prep bench, then put it back on the bar. Not ideal. Anyway, here's hoping those small issues aren't regular occurrences and it becomes Traralgons premier sports bar/TAB/bbq joint. Service was terrible, missed drinks from order, and had to go to bar and ask for some service to place an order, only half starters served then waited half an hour for the rest, made a complaint about main course immediately on serving, menu showed meal to share between 2 and very minimal for the price being charged, however only one of each item, waited for a response, but with no response until the meal was finished, then all the superviser did was to blame other members of staff.
