Little Prince Eating House & Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

I tried this restaurant for dinner whilst staying in the area. The fist thing that bugged me a little was that as a walk in diner I was seated at a communal table (shame on me for wanting to drop in unannounced and spend my money here). The menu is large and a bit confusing.. Too many options in the same small space and all in the same font. It's a bit overwhelming. The staff were friendly and they split the bill between me and a friend which is a bonus. The food is a few dollars overpriced, especially when the focus seems to be on multiple tasting plates. Now to the food..

The scallop dumplings No scallop flavour evident and wayyy too much chilli soy sauce. The saltiness of the sauce overpowered almost every element of the dumpling. The wrapper was good though.

KFQ (Kentucky fried quail) The breading mix didn't have enough spices, it was overly flavourful and fell away from the meat too easily. The quail itself was nice but I feel it's really too small a bird to cut up, bread and fry. Too many small bones, not enough meat for the effort involved with eating. The sauce that is drizzled over it is delicious.

Asian greens Simple Asian greens in a soy like sauce. Can't fault. They were tasty.

Crispy softshell mud crab. Standout dish of the night. The herb salad and dressing was bright and tangy. Very tasty and fresh tasting. The soft shell crab at the bottom was just the bonus to the delicious flavours on top of it!

Overall I would visit again (with a booking). Didn't leave hungry but...

I have been here on two occasions during the day. Both times had appalling service. I don’t usually write poor reviews because everyone has bad days at times. However on the two times I’ve been there with family for special occasions, we have watched the staff show little interest and lack attentiveness. There’s has been only 1-2 other small tables occupied and still the staff are slow, don’t check water, don’t clean table and don’t ask if we would like more food or drinks. Unless food was brought to us, we had to wave them down after trying to get their attention multiple times. We watched the other tables do the same thing. Shouldn’t be that hard to maintain 1-3 tables in the entire restaurant. I’ve also been to little price at night time. Much better service...

I've been to many restaurants all over the world!!! I didn't expect Traralgon to have such an incredible literally 10/10/10 eatery! Little Prince SLAPSSSS so good! The food is in fact very creative, hearty, and you know what actually FILLING!!! No fuss, no pretentious just fresh, delicious food! And on top of it all, the girls on the floor were blazing fast, super friendly, and extremely professional - these guys know exactly what the real hospitality is, checking on us every minute! Like we dropped a fork and 10 seconds later a new fork came out of nowhere! And this is all on a really busy night! The food was delivered like less than 10 minutes!!! Ugh we are impressed!
