3 of us had driven to this location specifically to eat next door at Sai Cloves which was supposed to be open, according to Google, and was actually open but wasnât serving people so we were glad that this place was open. All 3 of us really enjoyed our meals. I had a dosa and I thought the 3 accompanying sauces were the nicest I have ever had plus I had a chai which was flavoursome. The potato was a little undercooked but oddly still tasted really yummy. My son had a naan and dhal which he really liked and our other companion had a chicken soup which he loved and chicken tikka which he also found yummy. And they both enjoyed the very sweet mango lassi. Our meals came consecutively because there was only humble hard working older lady working all by herself.(staff were sick?) She had to both serve and cook so given that, I was especially pleased with the quality taste in all the food and that it was reasonably priced. And I loved that there was no music so it was very peaceful. So you might say that it was kind of imperfect ie each eating in order, but nonetheless really nice âŚâŚ.felt more like home cooking than commercial and I canât wait to come back! Felt authentic India re waiting in turn for our meals! But we still were able to eat in the limited time that we had, bc we had to be somewhere nearby by 6:30. So bye bye Sai Cloves. Youâve lost our business forever bc weâd driven from Clifton Springs specifically to eat with you and you turned us away. Now, every time Iâm passing through Belmont, from Clifton Springs Iâm stopping here for...
Read moreI saw this place a while back, and when I was craving for dosa we went to try this place, so drove 25mins to get there. Food itself was ok, pretty good dosa. Well, taste wise was ok, but textured wise failed. i ordered paper dosa which was NOT crispy. the floor was really dirty and the tables was not cleaned, they put a white paper on the table to change but our tableâs paper was not changed. there were curries and oily marks on the paper from the previous customers, which was covered with new napkins and cutlery for me. Disgusting!!!!𤎠All the staffs were inside the kitchen, so i had to get up and go to the counter and ring the bell to call them out , a lady would come out and give the menu and go back in, then never came out over 15 mins, so i went to the counter and ring the bell and she came out and take the order then never come out until the food is ready. I wanted water, clean cutlery and napkins, order extra stuff... the lady staff was not mean or rude, but she was a bit annoyed when i ordered extra stuff. Iâve got an impression that i bothered her when she has better things to do. Dirty, unorganized, unfriendly, Not impressive...
Read moreI will be honest and say that going to this restaurant was not what I had planned last night. There was somewhere else that we were going to go but when we got there they were closed in anticipation of the long weekend. A quick Google pointed me in the direction of another option which was curry and Dosa palace. Honestly⌠Things have a way of working out for the best. This place is an absolute hidden gem that Iâve not been to before but will certainly be going to again and again in the future. The staff were friendly and explained each option to me, but also didnât hover around more than what was needed. It was really authentic and I was surprised at the flavours of all the dishes that we ordered. We tried the chicken 65 Dosa and while it was full of flavour it also isnât for people unless youâre a fan of a bit of spice. Even the papadams blew me away by how different they tasted in a good way to other papadams Iâve had. Sure, some other restaurants may look a lot more inviting but I Think this is one of the best Indian restaurants in all of Geelong. They have soups as entrees, the jeera rice was amazing and a huge range of diverse vegetarian...
