Gluten Free 4 U - Geelong - Bakery, Cafe, Cakes Shop, Pizza, Wholesale Bread — Restaurant in Victoria

First time here and so amazed with the variety! Had a hard time picking which dessert to have and decided on the blueberry danish, eclair and fruit tart. As a baker myself I must say I am impressed with the quality since gf baking is very finicky and more difficult than non-gf baking due to the lack of gluten which is what holds pastry together. As a result gf pastries usually break apart a lot easier than non-gf pastries.

The fruit tart and eclair tastes exactly like non-gf and very delicious! The danish, of course you cannot compare to non-gf, was pretty good for what it was. I found it to be a bit soggy and I’m not sure if that is because it was frozen and not fresh out of the oven? There were also freezers filled with a variety of pastas, dumplings, pies, sausage rolls etc and other breads and sweets available.

The only complaint I have is the lack of seating - there was only one table and two chairs. Most people came to take away.

Being gluten intolerant this place is a godsend and I will be coming here very often! Thank you and please...

I must say I was quite disappointed with the service at your new Geelong store. I'm happy a gluten free shop has opened in Geelong but the system is horrible (well lack of system) waiting 10 min to be served today because it takes 4 people to serve one person and also they are m ore then happy to let customers push in. Also being 1.15 you would still expect lunch items but no there was nothing available for lunch except muffins. The lady said Saturday is their busiest day, well wouldn't you plan for that and have more stock? Also she told me that I should call 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE to place an order even if it's just for 1 scroll. Was there at 4.04 today to b told closed . I asked why as sign on door clearly states open untill 4.30 . Young girl serving says 4.30 means she has to b out of here by then and she has till to count and floor to mop . I said then you need to change opening times on door . She said “ dont have a go at me - take it up with my boss “ to which i replied well your either open untill 4.30 or not . I shut door and left . Staff member then came outside and yelled down footpath “ i dont like your attitude, dont have a go at me “ another customer also commented hold on we have every right to be frustrated.
