I came here looking forward to having a coffee with my husband. We had driven from Ballarat so we both needed to use the facilities. He dropped me off so he could park the car and I went to ask to use the toilet explaining that he was coming. I was told the toilet was busy. I waited for a long time and still no toilet available when I asked a second time. My husband came with our child in the pusher and I told him I was still waiting for the toilet. I asked again if the toilet was available and I was told the key must have gone missing but would soon be found. He asked if I would order and I explained that we both needed to use the toilet and since I didn’t know if they had one available then we would go elsewhere. He obviously thought I was not going to order and had been lying but I had every intention of ordering. But now I will not be going there again after such rudeness.

Further to my earlier review, I was not lying. The reason my husband didn’t come in was because when he called me to say he parked the car, I told him I was still waiting to use the toilet and since we both needed to go we wanted to be sure it was available before we ordered. So I came and asked a third time for the toilet. But you weren’t straight forward with me and made it seem as though the key was lost when you had been withholding it all the time. The way I was treated was so humiliating. I happen to be a 47 year old woman who had a baby 18 months ago and it was a difficult pregnancy, my belly swelled enormously with excess fluid and it put enormous strain on me. My pelvic floor is still recovering. The only lying going on was yours when you said the toilet was unavailable. I’m sure you would have found it greatly amusing if I had wet my pants whilst waiting for the toilet in your premises.

And basically what you are saying is that you would prefer to risk offending a genuine customer than risk someone using your toilet who was not a genuine customer. And that you suspected I was lying to you when I told you my husband was parking because you require absolute proof of his existence and won’t take my word for it. And that if I was lying as you have accused me of, I would sit and wait for twenty minutes in an elaborate ruse just to use your toilet and then walk out. In this case I was a genuine customer and I first came to find your store several weeks ago when I had a conversation with you about the fact that I used to frequently visit another Hahndorf store in Black Rock which has since closed. On that occasion I was allowed to use the toilet prior to ordering perhaps because I had my child in the pusher with me at the time. I ordered a coffee, toastie and several chocolates, including a tray of Easter chocolates and I also asked you what fillings were in those as they were not labelled and each tray looked a little different.

Since we were coming down to Geelong again I specifically asked my husband that we stop at Hahndorfs. It was supposed to be a sort of pre Mother’s Day treat because he was unavailable on Sunday due to his work commitments. I was looking forward to it. However, I will never be coming back again to your store but will visit other Hahndorf stores in the future because I still have fond memories of...

Went in for a cold drink and was really pleased with their service. Ordered three drinks and they were at a good price. Took our number to the table and the drinks were brought to us fairly quickly. We were also given a small piece of chocolate (our choice from an assortment) to go with the drinks. There was a wide selection of chocolates to choose from, each made in store and could be bought pre-packaged or you could fill in your own bag and pay by weight. And the prices are really good for what you get. The service was really good, and the people were polite and friendly.
