We had a very average experience which was genuinely upsetting as we could see the potential in the place. We ordered a Two Sugars Big Breakfast and a Prosciutto Pizza. The pizza was extremely soggy but I wasnt too fussed as I know this can happen to the best of places.
The big issue was the waitress that served us. She was disinterested and came off a bit rude. After we finished our meals we sat with empty plates for almost 30 minutes. She finished her shift and a very nice waiter came over and cleared our table for us.
When we tried to pay the two men behind the register were having a conversation. They were staring at us and chatting for a good three or four minutes until one of them handed us the bill without a word then tapped on the eftpos machine. We paid and walked out because we just wanted the whole thing over with. When we got back to the car we had a look at the bill and realised it was $82 for two people.
On closer inspection we had paid for a third meal we never ordered or received. When we went back we were lucky enough to have the waiter that served us earlier on register and he cleared everything up quickly and efficiently. He is an amazing asset to the place, I only wish I had asked his name.
These mistakes I would understand if it was busy but there were only three other tables while we were there. I guarantee the experience would be good if you got one of the better wait staff but if you happen to get that waitress or those two guys behind register then I promise you will also be looking to give a one...
Read moreWe had a superb experience at Two Sugars on Pako. The staff were attentive and the food arrived lightning quick. I had seen a photograph of their margherita pizza with bufala on Google which looked so good that I had to try it. I couldn't help but smile as I took my first bite. Memories of Milan and Rome came flooding back. I had found it, a true Italian pizza. The dough from the wood oven was soft and fluffy with the perfect thickness, with some of the edges deliciously charred from the embers. The tomato sauce was rich and salty, the way I remember it being in Milan. The cheese, well ... you get the picture. Safe to say I ate the entire thing in a matter of minutes. The next item on the menu was arancini with meat sauce. Simple and delicious. To savour the moment a little longer I got the garlic butter prawns with pane di casa. The bread was buttery, the prawns just right (with tails removed). To finish the night I had the espresso martini which was thick and velvety, the best I've had. If I had any complaint it would be the state of the men's bathroom which needs some repairs. The name Two Sugars doesn't exactly scream 'Italian' either. Regardless, I had a blast of a time. Two Sugars is a welcome relief from the pandemic, a flavour vacation...
Read moreOrdered a takeaway lasagna - was expecting amazing things for the $32 price tag and after reading great reviews - boy was I disappointedâŚ.
On entry I was greeted as if I was an inconvenience. It was quiet and everyone has an off-day, I get it.
All I wanted was a cold takeaway lasagna because my partner was craving a good lasagna and we were going to heat it up at home for her.
I asked if I could order a cold lasagna to take away, to which I was told âyesâ and that it shouldnât be long. After a suspiciously long time I received a heated lasagna. Which honestly was fine, it just meant my partner had to eat earlier than intended.
But what was really upsetting was paying the $32 for said lasagna only to receive a badly microwaved, rubbery bottom lasagna with an inedible burnt spot⌠We arenât that fussy, and the upper layers were nicer than most places - but most places charge a reasonable price and still manage to not burn their lasagnas in the microwave. For the price point they really should have gone above and beyond - they did not. If it hadâve been a $20 lasagna this would have been a very different review.
You be the judge -...
