After being a loyal patron of box office for 10+ years, bringing friends, family and people I wanted to impress here anytime we went out for a meal, I am now disappointed in box office. The coffee is good but that’s all I can say right now! I’ve been 3-4 times in the last two months and every time the food has been disappointing for both me and my guest. I got the son in law eggs the other day and was so confused as to what this meal was. The eggs were fully hard cooked through with bean sprouts and chilli on top but no sauce or anything? Just dry hard eggs with sprouts, and then given two dry thin ‘roti’ that I really didn’t know what to do with. Am I meant to dip this in egg? But the eggs are all hard? I asked a waiter about it and asked if the eggs were meant to be runny and they said ‘no, they just come the way they come’ which isn’t an answer actually 😂 I sent the meal back which I’ve never ever done before and got the eggs Benedict instead and THEN the eggs Benedict were tasteless! I’ve had them once before in the last few months and they were disappointing then but thought it was just a bad day for the chefs, but apparently not because the food was once again completely tasteless. The eggs Benedict doesn’t taste like ANYTHING, like I added so much salt to it and still it didn’t taste like an ingredient. It’s so bizzare. I got the fritters a month or so ago and again, tasteless. I don’t know if you’ve gotten a new chef or what, but it’s been really disappointing coming here lately and I’m really hoping y’all fix whatever is going on because I love the vibe and the staff here are lovely. It’s sadly gone from my favourite cafe to one I’m...

I recently had the pleasure of having breakfast at Box Office and was absolutely blown away!
The menu options are truly outstanding, offering a diverse range of tantalizing dishes that cater to all tastes and preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or a decadent dessert, this cafe has something to satisfy every craving. I was particularly impressed by the quality of ingredients used in each dish, as well as the innovative flavor combinations that set them apart from traditional cafe fare.
However, what truly sets them apart is its unparalleled customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They were attentive and friendly.
Moreover, the vibe is simply unbeatable. The cozy yet chic decor created a relaxed and welcoming ambiance that made me never want to leave. Whether you're catching up with friends over coffee, enjoying a quiet solo meal, or working remotely, the laid-back atmosphere at Box office is ideal for any occasion.
In conclusion, it is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it receives. With its delectable menu options, impeccable customer service, and inviting vibe, this cafe has managed to create a dining experience that is truly unmatched. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit - you won't be...
Read moreI originally gave this venue a 4/5 - I've been a frequent patron for years, I met Mark on day one and have tried, as a local, to support him since. Unfortunately Mark has been let down by poor staff choice. The staff, especially the latest lot, are atrocious. They are slow and uncommitted to service, frequently found chatting away to themselves and totally oblivious to their surroundings or customers needs. Mark had a great idea and worked hard to build something from nothing. Now, it's a lot closer to the "nothing" then the "something". On our most recent visit, we couldn't help but notice how run down the place is. It's starting to look dangerous, with broken seating and dirty plastic blinds. The view from our table was a car parked on some old plastic grass and a dead plant? (see photo) We were presented with two pieces of toast with one small butter patty (why?) and we were served by a boy who, upon realising we hadn't been given menus, greeted us by immediately explaining how bad the other staff were at their jobs. Not the vibe we were hoping to start our experience with. Luckily, on Pakington Street, you are spoilt for choice. (as an example, notice the excuses written in response to...
