Came here based on some great recommendations but was disappointed. I really liked the vibe, the art is cool, the place felt small but busy and like they would do amazing food. Unfortunately however each thing I ate felt like it was lacking.
We asked for some bread with the burrata but thought it odd that the focaccia we got was dry and untoasted/not warmed at least. The burrata dish itself was nice but the arancini balls lacked flavour. Definitely the most bland ones I’ve ever had.
The N.17 pizza was nice enough but just lacked. There wasn’t that much cheese and could’ve been hotter. It was kinda spicy in a good way, the meat was nice. The casarecce meatball pasta again was just underwhelming. The balls were a little bland and just nothing about it was exciting to eat. The Margherita pizza was Allgood, not the best one you’ve ever had, not the worst.
The red wine they had on special was nice. The wine glasses don’t have a stem which isn’t the end of the world but I was a tad disappointed in the feel. (Obviously this is very pedantic, just sharing for the sake of an in depth review).
Service was a little slow but very friendly and pleasant.
TLDR: was very excited based on such good recs and reviews but found all food a bit lacklustre. Nice vibe & staff....
Read moreI’ve been left quite disappointed after making a booking for my sisters birthday. We were sat at the door right in the walkway and when I asked for our table to be moved as it was a special occasion, the servers attitude instantly changed towards us. We were not given menus or water until 40 minutes later by another waitress who served us for the rest of our booking and she was great.
The food came out and it was beautiful. The only confusing part for us was that the burrata was served with no sort of bread?Afterwards, our plates were taken and we waited for desert menus but no one came, so a person from our table went and got them as we were happy to spend more money and have a sweet treat to finish off the evening.
We were rudely told to have a ‘quick desert’ in 10 minutes or get a take away dessert as they were seating another booking. Being told that we were given an extra half hour at our seating as though it was a privilege then being hastily moved out of the restaurant was nothing short of rude and disappointing. We had booked a special occasion hence the extra half hour? The table service was well below standard as our whole party has come from a...
Read moreThis charming Italian trattoria was a delightful surprise! They even accommodated our last-minute phone booking on Australia Day.
We began our meal with a refreshing bottle of Prosecco, followed by a delectable carbonara pasta dish. The pork and fennel sausage pizza was an absolute mouthwatering treat.
The pizza crust struck the perfect balance—thin and crispy, ideal for savouring by hand. It reminded us of the authentic Roman pizzas we had during our trip to Rome.
While the carbonara was tasty, they unfortunately ran out of bucatini pasta. However, they graciously substituted it with spaghetti. Although the flavours were still great, the pecorino and egg sauce had a slightly watery consistency compared to our preferred thicker version. We prefer a heavier cheese and egg yolk punch. Nevertheless, this is merely a matter of personal preference. The guanciale was cooked to perfection—the fat rendered smoothly without overcooking the pork pieces. It’s puzzling why other Italian restaurants these days cook guanciale too crispy, but these guys got it just right.
Overall, this fantastic Italian joint is definitely...
