Pakington Pantry — Restaurant in Victoria

The staff member that greeted us was a very nice guy who gave what I would say is 5 star service but after that it went a bit downhill. Having looked at the menu before hand I definitely knew the prices were on the higher side and that was ok, but what I wasn’t expecting was how little the food would be compared to other places.

The photo that I took was of what I ordered I made “The Big Breakfast” one of my favourite cafe breakfast items. I was a bit disappointed by the size of it all to be honest it says two eggs are in it and I feel like I might have gotten two small eggs because the amount that I did receive was eh.

Now one piece of toast as the menu says isn’t the worst thing in world however I don’t know why but the sour dough didn’t taste the best quality, what was also weird was getting three pieces of bacon the portion sizes seemed off for the whole order. Was extremely disappointed after my experience at Pakington Pantry today. First of all, I had chosen the ricotta pancake option from the online menu prior to attending my booking, which I was quite discouraged to find out they weren't on the menu in the café, as well as other menu changes which hadn't been updated. Secondly, I ordered scrambled eggs from the menu, which I would hardly classify as scrambled (see pics for reference). It was overcooked and was like an omelette. When the waitress asked us how our food was and I was honest and said it wasn't very nice, I received no apology and they made no effort to resolve the issue, and still made me pay even though I hadn't touched my eggs and only ate the bread. Left feeling ripped off, ordered “eggs on toast” which doesn’t come with bacon. So added bacon and halloumi. Meals were brought out together and mine was missing bacon and halloumi. Brought it to staffs attention, they left my plate of eggs on toast on the table going cold while they organised the missing extras. 10 minutes later the bacon and halloumi arrives, rest of my table had finished eating and by this time eggs were cold and toast was soggy. Halloumi was also disappointing. This disappointing experience was all wrapped up with still being charged full price, I would never expect anything for free but to not be offered anything for the obviously poor experience just topped it off.
