The Cremorne Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Very disappointing. Finally went out amid all these trying times. Barman was friendly. Me and my wife ordered a meal. Asked if we could sit in the lower level no smoking area where she met friends a couple of weeks before. Was told by the rude female waitress with a bad attitude no smoking area was there and was pointed in the direction of the outside seats near the tab. So went out sat down. What do you know smoke is blowing straight over the perspect screen straight in our faces. Got up and went back in. Same waitress asks if we were leaving Yeah no worries we already paid otherwise we would have. So we go sit down where we originally wanted to and waited for our meal. As we were sitting we seen ashtrays on the top of the little wall about a metre high separating supposedly the smoking from non smoking. I love Billy but being an ex footballer I would have thought he would be more on the ball regarding his patrons health. And his legal obligations regarding smoking areas. Both being non smokers and my wife currently having cancer treatment we don't really want to be breathing in second hand smoke anytime especially when we are trying to enjoy a meal. Which brings me to my next point. Billy being a big parmigiana nut I was expecting something up there with the best. Unfortunately it was dry. Salad was average and chips were dry.. Numerous issues the night we ate there - we will never be back. Tried to sit us at a table with strangers and insisted that "that table is your booking". Very slow to take orders and when serving drinks, staff leaning over the customer and table spilling drinks. More than 45 min wait from placing order to it being served to table. X2 meals were another 10 mins after that. Hot plate handed to a child without warning instead of staff placing it on the table. Paper menus in a "fine" dining place. Menus NOT collected when orders placed. Chips not hot when served. A bowl of chips needs to be hot. Lemon tart served hot???? Never have I ever had lemon tart served hot. Ordered coffee. Cappuccino served with milk "fluff" piled up high - anyone who knows coffee knows this is burnt/ over heated milk. My first coffee was stone cold, sent it back and the next one was so hot you could barely touch the cup and to boot it had a "herb" flavour and it was undrinkable. Went to pay and as it was a large booking of course we would be bill splitting- they refused to accept the Entertainment Book discount offer.

My wife and I were in for a meal recently having not been there for some time. To let you know I was extremely disappointed. Firstly there were few people in the room but the open wall between the bar with the lounge meant we could barely hear ourselves over the loud voices from the bar area. Secondly. We ordered 2 parmigiana's and a kids nuggets. The kid meal was fine but I was very disappointed in the parmi’s. The schnitzels were one of the worst I have ever eaten. They were very thin from being hammered out so big and they were twice as thick with crumbs than chicken. They were stale and over cooked and tasted as if they were pre-cooked and reheated, basically cardboard. Also they were chewy and very unappetizing. I ate about 30% and left the rest. Probably the worse I have ever eaten. A parmigiana doesnt need to be the size of a plate to be good. I looked for the waitress when an was leaving to complain but she was busy and there were no other staff in the room. Definitely wont be recommending anyone to go there. Have tried to ring and talk to the manager but have had no luck. Last time i rang the manager was standing next to the women that answered the phone but instead of answering they just walked out. Obviously dont care about feedback....
