As a somewhat regular at the Yarrawonga KFC, visiting maybe a couple of times a month, I've come to the disheartening conclusion that dining here is akin to a risky dice roll – seldom in favour of edible results. This persistent inconsistency is making me increasingly reluctant to return.
The core of the issue lies in the preparation of their signature items. More often than not, the chicken I receive is a soggy, oil-soaked disappointment, a shadow of what one would expect from the KFC brand. The side of chips, which should ideally be crispy and warm, are regularly served cold and limp, making for an underwhelming meal experience.
A glaring contrast is evident when one observes the McDonald's staff across the street, always meticulously groomed and demonstrating precision in their service. In stark contrast, the staff at this KFC branch, whom I can only liken to Cro-Magnons in their apparent disregard for modern service standards, exhibit neither pride nor care in their work. It's as if their only commitment to consistency is in regularly delivering below-average and borderline inedible meals.
The essence of fast food service is to provide quality food swiftly. Regrettably, at this establishment, 'quick service' seems to only consistently apply to their consistent underperformance. For a brand that prides itself on finger-licking good chicken, this particular KFC outlet is a let-down. One would hope for a significant overhaul in both staff training and food quality management to salvage what could be a thriving spot in our community.
Any efforts to improve the situation through staff training at the Yarrawonga KFC seem doomed to be fleeting. The root of the problem isn't the staff themselves but rather lies in the laps of management and ownership. They have consistently failed to implement effective training and customer service programs, which are crucial in equipping the staff with the skills necessary to excel in their roles. This lack of proper guidance and motivation has led to an environment where the staff, devoid of pride in their work, fall back into their habitual subpar performance. It's essential for the owners to adopt a more proactive approach, perhaps by incorporating regular feedback surveys with incentives and implementing secret shopper programs. Such measures can ensure that training is not just delivered but absorbed and applied. Instead of punishing staff for shortcomings, a supportive environment should be fostered, guiding them towards improvement. This approach wouldn't just elevate the standard of service at KFC but also empower the employees with a skillset and mindset that would benefit them in all their future endeavours, instilling a drive to strive for excellence wherever their careers...
Read moreFirst of all, food was fine. Always is. I've never been to a KFC that served bad food. They all maintain that high standard 💯‼
However, I needed to use there rest rooms and there was a sign on it. Firstly on the sign, it was a single toilet for ladies but it doubles up as a multi gender disability room, so it was a large open room that only had one lock and that was the one to re enter the restaurant. However, this other sign was "sorry the door lock is broken for now". So if you ready had to go anyone could walk in and see "all". You simply couldn't use it unless someone stops outside guarding the door for you.
However (again), you still couldn't use the bathroom as it looked as though someone had an exploding bottom and "it" was sprayed all over the loo (in the bowl, on the upper lip of the bowl, on the seat and on the inside of the toilet lid! Very disappointing Yarrawonga team. They're wasn't even many (to no) customers. Surely one of them could have taken a good 5min to clean it!
I've never had an issue there before. Or another KFC...

Read moreI enjoy KFC as a treat now and again But, I live here in Yarrawonga and have brought chicken here many times every time the chips are cold, but yesterday i went in and was told 12 minutes for the chicken to be cooked OK i will wait, while I waited I watched the chips were in the the station for delivery but no heat lamp on that I could see,( so I was glad that I did not order chips), when my chicken was given to me the person said watch out it is hot, when I got home there was fat running every where in the back of my car. I was talking to a man while waiting and he said the same things.
What does this owner of this business think of his customers because I am not one that will be back again and will pass on all my experiences at the business to anyone interested in my views as I have had enough.
