We popped into Kilgore St Grocer on our travels through Geelong. Wanted to visit this cafe last year but couldn’t get a spot inside so fave up and went elsewhere. Busy for a Monday lunchtime they offered coffees and drinks and cabinet food which they were able to heat. I had a crumbed chicken with cheese and garlic aioli in a bun toasted while KD enjoyed her halumi version of the same with a nice beetroot, onion chutney. Ice coffees were authentic and my larger one had a double shot which gave it nice strength without the sweetness.

Massive hipster decor but so what it's really nice. The staff here are very friendly and the food is delish. I always go for the chicken salad sarnie or tuna melt, I haven't tried any other food here so can't comment. The desserts always seem overpriced, but this place would have more hipsters in it than a turtleneck warehouse if it was in Northcote. The coffee is fine but it's the vibes that bring you back.

Cute little corner shop with ready-made food, hot and cold drinks. A great selection of eclectic grocery items worth checking out. Staff very friendly and willing to serve and answer questions. We bought Pepe Saya butter and lemon curd, and pancake mix … turned out well for a Sunday breakfast. Drinks were fine, but for my personal taste the chai was a bit watery. Worth the visit for the groceries.

I rarely write reviews and even rarer for me to write a bad one - if you don't have something nice to say you shouldn't say it at all - but i feel compelled to voice my disgust for the awful awful bitter swill that kilgour tries to pass off as coffee. Time and time again i am filled with regret after handing over money only to receive what could be best described as dishwater. I wish there was and option for negative stars because 1 star is not an adequate representation for the quality of their coffee. In saying all this i must admit that there was a time when this cafe had fantastic coffee and they still have good food and friendly service but a friendly smile and a tasty slice is sadly not enough to entice me from going down the road to your...

My wife and I came into the store for a coffee while this cafe was operating under a 1 person entry rule so my wife was asked to wait outside in which she did and was rudely asked to move out of the doorway while she was choosing what she would like to order. The barista (I believe to be owner) had then asked her to move over so another patron could enter the cafe while I was still inside. (Thought it was 1 person only?) My wife had then asked if she could use the rest room to sanitise her hands and the owner had then advised her that the bathroom was ā€œnot in useā€. This place has terrible customer service and extremely rude staff. Would not recommend at all if you’re looking for a happy and up vibe way to start your morning...

Friendly, great food and coffee plus upscale grocery items that are a treat. A little bit more expensive, but that is to be expected in places where rents are high for businesses. Stopping here is definitely worth it and I plan to come back frequently.

My daughter moved nearby shortly ago and we needed a new coffee stop to go to and she suggested here. The shop has a great selection of drinks and food and even accommodated my low carb requests which generally makes going out to eat a challenge for me. I try not ask if it's busy, but they were super friendly and understood what I needed without missing a beat. I'm jealous my kid has this place nearby....
