Lambys Tavern — Restaurant in Victoria

Really disappointing to personally witness discriminatory behaviour by Lambys Staff at a recent over 30’s day time event in July 2025.

I do not recommend any members of the LGBTIQA+ community or their allies attend this venue until all staff are provided with some basic diversity and inclusion training.

I am not usually one to write a negative review and always believe in giving management/business owners an opportunity to address any concerns directly together in a respectful manner.

After raising concerns both in person and in writing directly to Lambys Management and giving them ample opportunity to respond. It’s now been more than 6 weeks and Lambys management haven’t even responded with a brief email or quick phone call to discuss situation.

This along with reading several other bad reviews on google on here (spanning over 7 years) of other instances of homophobic and racial discrimination at this same venue is concerning.

There are so many free resources out there for busineses to train their staff on how to offer safer and more inclusive environments.

I really hope Lambys owners/management take a moment to do that to avoid causing further hurtful experiences to other people who visit their venue in future.

As I believe along with Lambys they may also own or manage The Edge at the Geelong Waterfront which as a popular tourist spot and to see this behaviour continue by any staff members is a really poor representation of Geelong and...

Black sheep cafe is The best restaurant Geelong CBD has to offer. I've been there a few times and they consistently have amazing food (including delicious vegetarian options), great staff who are always friendly and helpful and a great atmosphere. Keep up the good work guys, i'll be seeing you again very soon!!! :)

oh and did I mention that they are very very well priced for the amazingness that they offer.

Sun 16th sept: Had dinner friday night at Black Sheep cafe with my family. not only did they offer to change any meals to suit my brother and I who are both vegetarian, the chef said that he could make up new risotto or pasta dishes to suit or taste. The result was beautiful beetroot risotto with goats cheese and green beans tossed through. it was so delicious. thank you...

I went there on happy hour and I paid for my round of 3 shots and a Mario cart, this should have been $5-6per shot and then $10 for the Mario cart (also wasn’t told that a second Mario cart would be free.) I was charged $40 for these 4 drinks at 9:45 by the bartender and she didn’t let me see the eftpos machine, only out the tap side at my face. My friend got the same thing on the other side of the bar and she was charged $25, I paid $15 extra because the bartender decided to add on more. I then went up and got the same 3 shots and drink for my sister with her phone and she got charged $25 too. Why scam more money out of me, even though it’s only $15 it’s not good enough, they shouldn’t be scamming money off people...
