I dine out regularly and feel like I should share to help others avoid disappointment. I attended for a birthday lunch/drinks. The staff were lovely but very confused and couldnāt communicate well. The lite bottomless lunch quoted at $60 included a choice of one meal and unlimited drinks. I had the tacos which were average at best. Presentation was acceptable I but could definitely make it better at home. The drinks were okay but nothing special. I was driving so I only had one. I asked for a non alcoholic drink halfway through and they said I have to pay extra and that I should have chosen the non alcoholic lunch. I wasnāt given than option in the beginning and it wasnāt on the menu or Iād definitely have chosen this. Also they made cocktails from scratch so perhaps eliminate the tequila in the margarita? I was still hungry so I ordered the churros which were actually delicious and the only positive about the experience. Atmosphere felt like a chain. I definitely wonāt return and donāt recommend. Also when I got to register there was a surprise 8 percent service fee for weekends not mentioned anywhere on menus and another 1.5 percent charge to pay on credit card. For the $80 I paid you could get something SO much better from a local Smaller business. My friends who had 5 margaritas got good value I guess but Iād rather support a local...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Hecho En Mexico was nothing short of infuriating and humiliating. I was blatantly refused service inside, despite there being an open table that the staff claimed was "booked"āa clear lie, as the table remained empty the entire time. This wasnāt just a misunderstanding; it was outright discrimination.
The staff member who "assisted" me, if you can even call it that, treated me with such disdain that it left me furious. She had the audacity to tell me that because I was dining alone, my only option was to sit outside. Her tone was condescending, as if I were some kind of nuisance or lesser customer simply because I was single. It was clear that I wasn't welcome, and it was hard not to feel this treatment was because I am American, single, and white.
This was not just poor serviceāit was a deliberate and mean-spirited act of exclusion. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable, and I left feeling enraged and deeply hurt. No one should have to experience such blatant discrimination and disrespect. Hecho En Mexico's staff showed zero decency and made it abundantly clear that they do not value all customers equally. I will never set foot in this establishment again, and I strongly urge others to avoid supporting a place that thinks itās acceptable to treat...
Read moreI wish I could say my family and will be going back. Unfortunately this is not the case. Nevertheless let's focus on the pros and cons of Hecho en Mexico Geelong. Pro's and there are not many but here it is, fantastic table service with a smile the table waiters where just too happy to accommodate and that's about where it stops. Cons Food and drinks. Nachos should be one of the easiest food around to cook nachos should be warm and cheesie it was anything but! Over baked and burnt nacho chips, overcooked chicken and lack of cheese made it a pretty boring and uneatable plate of food. We also had the street style corn I don't ever remember the corn being charcoal and pretty much again uneatable. 3 buritos that should have been served as separate ingredients would have been more enjoyable. Drinks the bar tender needs to either go back and learn his trait or needs to find a different trait we orders 3 piña colada may have well been mocktail's not one drop of alcohol in the drink. Yes I could have brought it up to their attention but if you are in these jobs the assumption is you should know what you are doing I as the customer should not be telling them how to...
