Pretty decent park that not only serves as a shortcut to the train station (or CBD) but has enough grass, gardens, seats and paths to be relaxing and accommmodating. Markets and concerts here occasionally are always good. I had my wedding photos done here a long time ago. A longer a time ago, when colonists arrived here circa 1830s, it used to be a water resource and if you catch Addy articles from those times you can read about drunks falling in to it or animals (not drunk... I hope).

The park is at a walking distance from Geelong station. It has a nice garden which is ideal for a picnic with kids and family. It does have Geelong library at the centre of it which is also a must visit. Just cross the road and you would be in the market where you can find lot of eating options.

Lots of different events and ceremonies held here throughout the year. Anzac, Carols by candlelight, White night, Markets etc. Always very clean and well kept lovely gardens. A very nice place to sit down and enjoy the serenity.

Always beautifully maintained, Johnstone Park has been an oasis in Geelong for many decades. Expansive lawned areas are great for picnics, relaxing, strolling, playing, reading etc. A lovely sense of openness and calm on a hot or busy day. Adjacent to the impressive Arts precinct including the magnificent new state-of-the-art Library (The Dome), Performing Arts Centre, Town Hall and Art Gallery. An iconic and must-see...

Beautifully kept well maintained park within geelong ,right next to Geelong library heritage centre amd Town hall. the park resent well with plenty of space to relax or enjoy your lunch on your lunch break or a picnic with the family before tackling the Heritage centre . Enjoy something from the onsite Cafe while you're there. Restrooms inside the Geelong Library...
