Odd Captain Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

We had breakfast here, the food was nice and cooked well.

We sat out the front which was nice, a lovely view down the street and the beautiful park across the road. There is a nice outside back part to the restaurant which looks lovely. Everything was clean and tidy.

The coffee was fine, the milkshake was fine and the ice chocolate wasn't great, it just had lots of the chocolate sauce at the bottom which was a bit much but it was still ok. The kids had pancakes off the kid's menu which were a great size and good value at just under $10 also had kid's scrambled eggs which went down a treat and were a good serving size.. The adults bacon and eggs was nice.

The service was ok, we only interacted with one man who didnt seem happy, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that it just wasn't his day.

Overall I wouldn't say anything stood out as great, and I personally wouldn't go back because there are so many great places to explore just down the street but there was nothing really bad either, so if your wanting to try it out I'd...

This cafe was a very packed and busy area considering it was a Saturday and at lunch time! The customer service wasn’t the best but I do think there was quite a few new people! One thing I wasn’t too please about was watching the girl in the cafe area spray a fly with fly spray but she managed to spray all the cups they use to make coffees with, with the fly spray! I think that is very distrusting and not food safe! The food portions were quite small but I did expect that knowing it was a cafe and most of the times the portions aren’t that big! I had to ask the lady that served us for the lunch menu even tho it was past lunch time and she wasn’t sure if she could serve us the lunch menu! Great food and great service! We stopped in and had lunch here recently while travelling through Echuca. Due to the time of day, we thought we’d call in advance to see when the kitchen closed and so glad that we did! The man that answered not only said that they were still open but told us to call on approach and they’ll ensure they STAY OPEN for our order - what great service! When we arrived we ordered the Steak Sandwich and the Fish and Chips. Both meals arrived quickly with the fish cooked perfectly. The steak sandwich was also delicious with an excellent balance of ingredients that only added to the steaks flavour. We sat inside but definitely would have dined in their courtyard had the weather been a little warmer. All up, we would 100% head back to the Odd Captain when we are in Echuca again.
