First of all, I need to say that the food at Curry Club is really quite good. We ordered the Goa Fish Curry, Chicken Jalfrezi, Lamb Korma, Palak Paneer, saffron rice and naan (garlic and plain). Everything was delicious. BUT … (and I hate to say it but) … the service was ABYSMAL. We had pre-booked a table and we were taken to our table after a short wait. More than ten minutes later, we still hadn’t even seen a menu. We could see the staff were under the pump (it was the weekend of the Echuca Winter Blues Festival after all), but it felt like our table was singled out for special inattention. Is there anything worse than feeling like you are invisible? We prompted and waved and finally, we ordered and waited. And waited. And waited. Three other tables (all were seated after our group) received their meals while our bellies rumbled. Again, we flagged one of the wait staff who ROLLED HER EYES before telling us that our meal was on its way. One hour and ten minutes after our booked time, our meal was delivered to the table. Again, I have to compliment the kitchen staff as the food was very good. Ultimately though, the service (lack of) and attitude (in spades) of the staff left a bitter taste that the food just could not compensate for. We...
Read moreThe food is the best Indian I've ever had. No lie. I loved this food so much I would highly highly recommend you going there and giving this place a go. My partner and I visited the Murray for 4 days and we saw the Indian restaurant and wanted to try. After reading the reviews on several different websites I was reluctant to go but my partner convinced me. I'm so glad we did go. Indian is my 2nd favourite cuisine after Thai so I've eaten a lot of Indian food and by far this is the best. I spoke to a local and he said that this place has changed hands a few times and this may be the reason for the bad comments. The food was fresh and tasty and delicious. Please try and don't take on board what others had said because it was different owners and different chefs. The only downside is this - the Asian lady who hosts the resturant I found to be a bit like a cold personality. If she is not the owner and you are the owner she really needs to go as she is ruining...
Read moreAfter spending a few days in Moama from interstate, we have visited several restaurants around the area and after eating here, I left with a belly full and saying WOW ! What a gem ! We ordered saffron rice, garlic naan, plain naan , popperdoms, butter chicken and goat in home made curry. My wifes butter chicken had big chunks of tender juicy chicken smothered in the most flavourful rich creamy tomato based curries outside of Delhi. You can actual cut it with a spoon and see the penetration of curry into the chicken. My goat curry was just as succulent and juicy, easily coming away from the bone with every bite. The home made curry sauce that the goat was marinating in, was heavenly. Ganesha surely played a role when the master chef created this curry. The naan, rice and popperdoms were also on point. If I'm ever anywhere near Echuca again, I will definitely be back. Thankyou for amazing food...
