Rook's Pizza & Diner — Restaurant in Victoria

I first tried Rooks some time ago after moving in to the area and it's safe to say I was incredibly disappointed. The delivery was almost 2 hours late, with no notification or call, the pizza was stone cold and when I called to let them know, I basically got a "sorry" and nothing else.

Through lack of a better option and nothing in the fridge, I gave it another go a few months later.

The delivery was just about perfectly on time from what was advertised. The pizza was cold but tasty and the pasta was actually amazing. I was actually surprised as most bought pastas required a literal ton of salt to be edible.

Third and last review: pizza is consistently cold on delivery. Suspect they just cook it and leave it atop the oven for an hour while waiting on kitchen/drivers. Pasta is consistently a bit “gluggy” from too much cream, but has decent flavour. Delivery is always very slow. Projected time is always an hour or higher and the actual delivery is rarely on time for that projected time.

If I can offer some advice (following a decade of cooking professionally) it would be to hold the delivery pizzas from cooking until you’re actually ready to send them. Cold pizza is good the following day but when you first get it, it’s supposed to be HOT.

Thanks Rook's Pizza & Diner for what was meant to be a special family dinner night out was ruined because we requeated our entrees and mains to be ordered seperately, heaven forbid you have to use an extra order sheet. We sincerely appologies, didn't realise this would cause so much confusion for front of house and kitchen staff! Excuse us for wanting to take some time to enjoy our entree before we decided on our mains!!! Not worth the hassel so we...

Been regularly going to this lovely place all year. Fantastic atmosphere, lovely staff with good ol fashioned humor.

Their meatlovers pizzas are the best! Solid amount of toppings and their pastas and the size of their meals in general are generous! They may be a little more expensive than usual but they are worth every cent!

Cant say no to their garlic bread!
