There were 3 of us, and we reached this ârestaurantâ at 7:25pm.
We were escorted to an empty table by a waitress and she served us our cutleries and water. Two minutes later, a younger woman, possibly the manager, rushed out to tell us that the table was already reserved and told us to shift to a smaller table. There was no indication that the table was reserved, and we were already settled in. But we didnât mind and gladly shifted over. We even brought everything over ourselves. The people who reserved the first table arrived shortly after.
When we decided to order, we waited 5mins for someone to even enter the dining area, but no one did. One of my friends walked towards the counter and kitchen to find someone, but was told rudely to sit down, by the same younger woman. âCan you please take a seat?!â This was still okay as we thought that she would take our order immediately. But this was not the case. She went to the people that had just arrived, and took their orders first. Even though it was 7:45pm, 20 minutes after we had arrived. She still took her time, and only came to us a few minutes after. When I asked her if our food would arrived first, because it has been almost 30mins since we arrived, she avoided the question and beated around the bush.
I was already expecting this, but true enough, our food came at 8:10pm, after the group who came much later than us. Even though she knew we wanted to order, she went to them first, and still took her time. She didnât even look like she wanted to serve us our food first, as she could have easily asked the kitchen to complete our orders first. The food only came 45 minutes after we stepped in, even though we decided what to order during the first 5 minutes of our arrival.
This is unacceptable for a place that charges around $30 a person for an average dinner. Iâm not sure whether this is because the 3 of us are Asians, and the group that received the preferential treatment were Australians. But this does not make sense as everyone working in that restaurant is Asian too. I donât understand why that woman would go out of her way to ruin our night for us. If there were other dinner places which were still open around the area, we would have just walked out of this poor excuse for a restaurant.
Definitely would not visit again. Thank you...
Read moreAte here twice whilst in Bright. The first visit was just the 2 of us. The food was delicious, the flavours very authentic and the service very good. Had vegie spring rolls, Pad Khing and Tamarind Fish Fillets, all of which were tasty and well presented. On our second visit, we took our daughter & 2 young grandchildren. It was busier on this occasion and we were extremely disappointed with the service. Our entrees came after a reasonable wait, but we waited one hour after finishing these for our main course. This was definitely unreasonable as we observed customers who had arrived after us served their mains before us. When we asked how long our food would be, we were told it was unexpectedly busy and they were unprepared. No apology, just excuses. I actually think they forgot our meals. Our meals finally arrived, one by one over a period of 10 mins or so and my husband, who had ordered the whole snapper, received his meal about 15 mins after all the other meals. The fish had not been descaled properly which made eating it rather unpleasant. We had arrived about 6.10pm and didn't leave till after 9pm. Most people who had arrived after us had already left. Very disappointing evening and more disappointing was the attitude of the staff. Would be wary about going again even though the...
Read moreWe were very excited to try the food here. Unfortunatley, it was disappointing, we spent $125 on our order, Thai Basil Chilli Stir Fry (x2), Massaman Curry (x1), Steamed Jasmine Rice (x3), Roti (x1), Roti with Satay (x1), Chicken Satay (x1), Satay Tofu (x1). The portions are quite small, but that's not the reason for review, just a general comment for others to be aware of. The Thai Basil Chilli Stir Fry was not like any I had eaten before, and had a strange overpowering fish sauce flavour, or something similar, no Basil or flavour to be seen and tasted. Massaman Curry was very watery and lacked flavour and spice. Steamed Jasmine Rice was super stodgy and overcooked, not enjoyable at all. Roti was nice, the tastiest thing we ordered. Chicken Satay must have been from frozen, it was super dry and only had a splash of satay sauce, the most enjoyable part of this dish was the lettuce with satay sauce. I also got a tendon on a piece of the chicken which is a massive turn off for me. Tofu Satay was enjoyable.
I would really have liked to give this place a glowing review but it just didn't deliver the Thai flavours and quality of food we...
