I had high hopes but was let down by things a normal restaurant would do, from the unset tables around you to empty plates sitting on table 20 minutes after people have left having 1 waiter running around looking after 25 people is a owner that care more about there hip pocket that actually making this place a success. Disappointment started with the drinks, a mojito isn’t hard to make for most. You’re meant to muddle the mint not pulverise it. Entree, 3 small balls of pork croquettes with pepperonata $22 was bad. PEPPERONATA is not just a tomato base with chilli, it over powered everything. Beetroot salad $21, meh average very basic nothing special about it, too much vinegar but the beetroot crisps were good. MILLAWA Millawa duck breast, honey suede, watercress, five spice & mandarin jus $44 was alright tho it was slightly cold the waiter accidentally poured some sauce on the table. I did feel like the duck was slightly overcooked. The glazed pumpkin, lentils, hazelnut , green olive tapenade $35 was way too salty not a well thought out dish that was enough for 2 people not great at all. The greens side $14 was baby food over cooked veg something your parents would do. So much garlic out of a jar and a watery mess. The chips rosemary salt with aioli $12 couldn’t taste the salt asked for extra salt chef apparently refused & put it on the side instead. The so called complimentary bread was good but tasted like a sweetbread. The state of the ice cold butter cut out of a block like know one cares slapped on a plate. IS IT SO HARD to take it out of the fridge 30 minutes prior and actually make it presentable. There was 1 chef standing there looking into the dining room like she owned it maybe the head chef or owner. I know 1 thing I will go elsewhere next time, a really underwhelming restaurant that needs to bring things back to basics before moving onto bigger and better things. The minimal decor & mood lighting were good though creating a romantic atmosphere, but a little soft music goes a long way.

Attended for breakfast while staying at the peppers. Dining room was cozy and had a great ambience. Breakfast was included in our stay, but I think it has a set price of circa $30 for visitors. The breakfast started with a share plate of granola & yoghurt, fresh fruits, and flakey fresh croissants. You can also order a barista made coffee along with fresh juices. Following the platter, you then order a hot breakfast from the set menu, which offered 5 different choices to cater for most tastes. We tried the smoked salmon rosti and the country breakfast. Both were very delicious, plated beautifully, and well above the standard of hotel breakfasts. I noticed just one chef in the kitchen, very impressed with her work as the tables filled up during the morning. Excellent way to start the day during our stay!

Beautiful and tastefully decorated place and a great service with not so good food. I ordered the beetroot salad with goat cheese: the combination of beet and roasted walnuts and dressing was lovely but there was about maybe half a teaspoon goat cheese on it. Then I had the baby octopus dish which was so salty that I couldn’t swallow the first bite. I notified the waiter and he immediately suggested to replace it with something else and I picked the pasta; it wasn’t as bad as the previous dish but it was undercooked. Dessert was fine. I do not recommend this place unless someone tells me they’ve got a new chef with good taste for food.

Beautiful place lovely atmosphere , friendly staff , prompt service and attention to detail are just a few things I could say to describe this resturaunt when we arrived the vibe was quite relaxed and friendly the dinning room was low lit but very comfortable and has a sense of elegance to it . The food we received was fantastic it was very rich with flavour and had a certain depth to it , the smoked trout they have is just incredible if you're lucky enough to get a chance to try it I highly recommend doing so , me and my partner opted for the feed me option and by the end of the even iing we couldn't fault the chefs selection and where very very full we couldn't eat another morsel , and it wasn't for a lack of trying the food truly was incredible. Onto the service the two waitresses that where on shift that evening were very professional and attentive checking up on us after each serving and always able to see us for any extra orders within a few minutes . This place is truly a gem and I'm very happy that we were able to experience it...

We had the most wonderful Father’s Day lunch at The Argus Dining Room. The food was incredible - every dish was so flavoursome and beautifully presented. But what made the experience truly special was our waiter, Kit.

From the moment we sat down, Kit made us feel so welcome. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fun. His suggestion for our group of four to mix and match entrées and desserts was perfect, it meant we got to try everything without feeling rushed or overindulged.

What stood out most was the genuine care and thoughtfulness he showed. He shared fascinating stories about the history of the building and photography, and even decorated the space with flowers from his own garden, making it feel warm and homely. The sweetest touch was when he gave my mother a cutting of one of those beautiful flowers to take home - such a thoughtful gesture we’ll never forget.

It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience we will cherish, and Kit made it all the more memorable. Thank you for making Father’s Day so...
