NOVA Balinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Victoria

We dined at Nova on 24/10/2019 and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavours and tastes of our selections. Our party of 4 sampled a fair cross-section of the menu from entrees to mains. The satay chicken skewers were tasty and the peanut sauce was the best I've ever tasted!! I think this was made from actual peanuts that had been freshly shelled and ground! The corn fritters were superb. The nasi goreng and noodles were tasty with sambals on the side. The lamb curry, racks of ribs, and pork selections were also cooked to perfection. My only dislike was the coconut salad, which wasn't what I expected and was mostly a dry couscous-like cereal texture. But my personal dislike for this one item doesn't mean others won't like it...I was just expecting a salad with some greenery and moisture, so it's probably just my ignorance to this particular menu. All enjoyed with a Bintang beer- made the evening a memorable occasion. Very good service. We will be back for sure....perhaps to sample the "surprise"...

Went here on Saturday for dinner service , overall it is a great idea , lacks authenticity and customer service was very average. Geelong continues to need more culture and this restaurant has potential. However, the front staff needs more training. The male waiter mispronounced all the dishes and attempted to correct myself, even though I grew up in Indonesia. Food definitely hit close to home, limited options and bit to pricey for the portions but it’s pako street so makes sense. Bali has so many good local foods that need to be implemented into their menu. Atmosphere is great , a few more indo related things would be awesome. Again , customer service was a let down , no “how was the meal?” or understanding of the dishes they were putting out. The kitchen staff produced nice food so hats...
