China Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Western Australia

Just moved in near swan valley area and wanted some Chinese food after a long day. Found China Garden and gave it a good. I was a bit skeptical because it was like in the middle of nowhere. I realized my skepticism was unfounded when I entered the place. The aroma of the food coming from the kitchen was amazing, whilst the place is dated in renovation, it felt very cosy and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced, the serving portion was generous and they really delicious (just slightly salty on two out of the four dishes I ordered). The staff were so friendly and warm. This place was listed as $ but I reckon it's closer to $$ or $$$. Portions were very small, especially for a Chinese restaurant. They have higher prices for dine-in vs takeaway; not a massive amount, but still strange.

Service was not overly friendly either. My partner asked for roast duck with plum sauce but was brought deep fried duck smothered in the plum sauce. We asked why it was fried instead of roasted and we were told "typically it's fried with this meal." No offer to fix it. I had the combination meal with soft noodle which did not at all taste fresh. The sauce tasted like a jarred mushroom sauce. Also worth noting they upcharge for a soft noodle in lieu of the crunchy noodle.

Recently ordered takeaway from here, absolutely disgraceful customer service from the beginning of the phone call. When collecting the order from the restaurant I noticed my order was incorrect which resulted in a further wait at the restraunt for this to be correct. When I finally got home my order was still incorrect, I called the restaurant and was made drive back with the food. The restaurant took the food back but refused to give a refund and continued to laugh at me in front of a restaurant full of people.
