*EDIT: I’m yet to receive an email reply from Daisies regarding the free matcha, but will update my review once i’ve tried it.

Popped in for coffee and also got a strawberry iced matcha because we saw it on the menu. I wish we’d read the matcha reviews beforehand as it didn’t have a strong strawberry taste at all. It tasted like the matcha hadn’t been mixed properly, sour trying to pass off as earthy.

The coffee is alright, not my favourite. It’s a very dark roast if you’re into that flavour profile. They use Dukes Coffee ā€˜Dukes Blend’ beans. It wasn’t my taste (made as a long black) but it might be yours. I imagine it’s better suited to milk. I would have liked to see a local roaster.

The cafe itself is really cute, with lots of fresh takeaway meal options. I didn’t try any of their in house food, but the apple and rhubarb porridge sounded nice. It was close to closing so it was fairly dead, but I imagine it would be quite lively when it’s warmer and earlier in the day.

Sadly I wanted to like this place more than I did, but I won’t...

Really slow service on a Sunday. Ordered 2 coffees - after 20 min I got one but they had clearly forgot/ missed the second. When I politely asked if they had lost the order they insisted someone must have taken it. I ordered via an app and ultimately waited 30 min for 2 coffees, being outside the counter most of the time.

I doubt someone else took it based on when the first coffee arrived and so I believe an apology would have been more appropriate. Anyone can make a mistake but 2 of the servers being defensive and blaming someone else made this experience a bit distasteful for me.

Ordered an aƧai bowl and in addition to being half filled (again more air than aƧai)- they forgot the peanut butter. Such an uncomfortable experience - didn’t want to go back a second time to mention their second mistake. Accept that this place is not for me -...

Visited while in Perth from Melbourne. Clearly the place to go on the weekend. Waited 5-7 minutes in line but received my banana bread and coffee in less than 2-3 minutes. Banana bread was great, toasted with butter. Coffee was very large (good value for $5) but a bit lacklustre - mostly just warm milk, but i also hold my coffee to a high standard. Clearly they’re so busy and pumping out coffee so it’s understandable that they’re not always perfect, but yeah would love to see the coffee improve.

I felt weird about the entire disposable packaging situation. Considering the location by the beach and the emphasis on community, the decision to serve everything in single use packaging is odd. Yes there are dedicated bins for recycling and landfill, but I doubt that mitigates the consumption. Would love to see moves towards more long term...

Great coffee and toasties. Well priced. Friendly young service. Nice outdoor vibe. BUT, single use packaging! Biodegradable is not sustainable and the best-worst alternative to a good old fashion ceramic cup. I hope the 'Organic' bin is sent to the local industrial compost facility (Kooda?), otherwise it's worse off than regular plastic cups as it ends up in landfill emitting methane, which is 24x times worse than CO2. Growing food to produce a single use cup simply won't cut it this century. We need to be doing better. Sounds like this is a planning permit issue? Can I suggest you organise a petition to change your license with the local council? I suspect all of your customers would be more than supportive and this would surely help your bottom line.
