Had a difficult time here and won’t come back. The rating is complex so I’ve broken it down. Eggs on toast 3/5, fine but nothing special at all. Cappuccino 5/5 delicious. Iced mocha 3/5 too heavy on syrupy sweetness. Hash browns 5/5 amazing. French toast 0/5. The French toast isn’t how they describe it with banana and nuts and cream, or as you’d imagine it as fluffy thick toast fried in egg and with delicate toppings. Instead the best way to describe it would be a very hard heavy Christmas pudding or mud cake. Truly disgusting and I didn’t eat any more after the picture. I get that chefs want and need to experiment and put their own twist on things but felt utterly betrayed by them calling this French toast, especially when it looks nothing like any of the French toast pictures people have taken in the past. Now if they called it Christmas pudding then you’d absolutely love this and it would be great. But calling it French toast? People are buying this for breakfast. It’s not what it is. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient but I felt like the service was cold and that I was unwanted and unwelcome, which was really strange and I couldn’t understand why; my wife has been here before and she had the other waitress who was warm and welcoming. The table was clean as far as I could tell but extremely sticky to the touch like the varnish has gone bad, which I personally don’t like.

The highlight for me was the chips with my crispy chicken burger. They were skin on potato chips very nice they're very very nice. The burger was very conflicting it was really nice but very hard to eat because the roll was crusty like it was baked and so when you bite into it it goes everywhere and makes it harder to eat. We did go at lunch and it was very very busy even though all the tables were occupied we were still accommodated by the staff who moved a table. For the pricing I was very surprised at the menu, and the resulting product. Maybe I need to try this place at a earlier time, but was good the Berry shake was awesome a bit bananary but was still great.

Recommend the Gluten Free - Hash Brown Benny. So nice to just have something gluten free that not served on basic gf toast. Hash brown was creamy in the middle, with a thick crunchy crust, and of course the eggs were perfect poached, with rich hollandaise sauce. Wow. And the thick cut bacon. A savoury, crispy, and filling treat! Long Macs served our tastes buds as well. Easy street parking. Inside and outside dining very comfortable, welcoming, and accessible. Staff were professional and courteous. GF, DF, and V items as well. Well done! I’ve heard and read heaps of positive reviews so it was no surprise the busyness during our midweek stroll.

Disappointed in the blatant lack of care and understanding around food allergies! Stopped at Finlay & Sons for a coffee with my toddler this morning who’s anaphylactic to cows milk. I ordered him a OAT milk babycino (had my own chocolate powder). I checked the chocolate powder packet that the waitress kindly bought to the table for me to check and it contained milk so I said “no choc powder, just the oat milk”. When the cup of milk arrived , I asked again if it was oat milk. She had said yes but after a few minutes, she said no it wasn’t. I already tasted it at this point. Another waitress brings a new cup of oat milk but it contained the choc powder to which my son couldn’t have! I then explained again to the waitress about the severity of his milk allergy and that I only ordered plain milk. My MIL also went up to clarify with the barista about what we ordered and again told them about his milk allergy and the barista rudely says “I already made you another one”, which wasn’t what we ordered anyways. Safe to say I won’t be back!! staff need better understanding of allergies - esp if it is life threatening. do not come here if you suffer with allergies!! The staff can’t...

Been coming here for a couple of years now and it's turned into a bit of a favourite. The menu is mainly what I'd describe a "brunch" dishes, that you could get away with eating for breakfast or lunch. The presentation is consistently beautiful and each menu item is packed with flavour and interesting textures. The place is very much of a community hub, popular with locals and especially busy after school drop-off. The coffee is a mellow but flavoursome cup well worth ordering on its own. You can order take-away with a little cake from the barn-style side-door. Only criticism is that you can wait a long time for your food, so it's not a good idea to come here if you're expecting a quick meal - 15-20 minute waits are not unheard of. It's also a bit pricey, lunch for two can come in at around $50-60, but as mentioned you are getting quality and satisfaction for this price - I've paid the same in other cafes and have been far less happy with the result, so I don't begrudge paying that much. This place would be perfect if they could speed up service a bit, but that doesn't stop us...
