Fong's Kitchen Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Western Australia

Extremely disappointing. We booked a table for 7 people for a birthday dinner on Friday evening. They were so short staffed with only one lady in the restaurant and two cooking. Where do I start as there were so many problems? Firstly we sat down and waited for menus and glasses. After 20 minutes we had to go to the counter and collect them ourselves. We were still one glass short. No one took our order so we had to go to the counter again to put our order in, and ask for another glass. The meal took over an hour to arrive. They seemed to favour takeaways over dine ins as the lady was constantly on the telephone and a lot of people came in to collect orders. We were not offered water during this time and once again had to go to the counter to ask for some. Our complimentary prawn crackers never arrived. When the food did come out the portion sizes were on the small size - 2 or 3 pieces per person, and lacked vegetables. Meat and loads of onion. The cashew chicken had perhaps 7 cashews at a stretch. We’re not big eaters but certainly were not full up after 6 dishes plus rice for 7 people. Upon paying the bill my daughter (wearing her birthday crown) asked if we could have the prawn crackers to take away as we never got them. She was told that as a bag of prawn crackers contains more than a bowl on the table, she couldn’t give them to her. Imagine her disappointment! The restaurant also lacks atmosphere and our tablecloth was really sticky, you had to peel your arms off the table. We were not given napkins or even paper serviettes. We had read positive reviews and were really looking forward to our celebratory dinner however we were not at all impressed and definitely will not be...

Had a shocking experience. Ordered takeaway food and then found bugs in our rice. They looked like little white worms or maggots. We called them and they said oh it must be old rice and if we went back then they'd replace it. We said no we don't want any of the food now (obviously) and asked for a refund. They pushed back, saying they didn't know how to do refunds, then that they'd only refund the rice, then finally agreed that they would refund us if we drove back and returned all the food. Said that if we didn't return everything then they wouldn't refund us. Made me feel like I was a liar and it was a big inconvenience to our night because now we had to drive all the way back to their restaurant. Bad service,...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Soren's review a few months ago. Food is unpalatable. Hubbie and I were hankering for a wonton soup but to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Strange flavour, more asian greens than wontons, and the wonton itself had no filling - just pastry. The special fried rice was ok. The plum sauce (?!) that came with the duck had a weird fishy sweet & sour kind of flavour. And I'm actually not sure what was in the "beef rendang" but it was creamy and tough.
