Grill'd Cottesloe — Restaurant in Western Australia

I am writing to formally express my disappointment and concern following a deeply unpleasant experience at Grill’d Cottesloe on the morning of Sunday, 6 April 2025.

While placing my order, I was served by a male staff member whose behaviour was unprofessional and offensive. He mocked my accent by intentionally changing his voice in an exaggerated and disrespectful manner — not once, but twice. When I asked him what he had said, he immediately switched back to a normal tone, clearly aware that his behaviour was inappropriate.

I felt humiliated and targeted based on my origin, which is completely unacceptable, especially in a customer service setting. I requested a refund due to the way I was treated. Instead, I was offered a voucher that didn’t even cover the full value of my order (less than $27), which felt dismissive and inadequate given the situation.

I believe no customer should be subjected to discrimination or ridicule, and I am raising this complaint with Consumer Protection WA to ensure the matter is investigated and appropriate...

Absolutely disgusting. I watched the service women treat a young girl appallingly when she forgot to sign in on the app for a pickup order. The counter girl literally yelled at her rudely when the customer in this case did absolutely nothing wrong except not realise you needed to sign in for a pickup order (I didn't know that either!) She then went on to be nice to the next guy in line who also hadn't signed in. I left in disgust and on my way out stopped to see if the poor girl was ok as she was crying on the curb. Kids always love going here. Was a Friday night but wow, the queue!!! You need to have plenty of time generally to grab burgers from here. We were just passing by so stopped in. Big mistake, as waited nearly 40mins & was only 2 kids burgers & chips. 1 burger ordered with nI sayce ended uo with sauce. Oh well, wasn't queuing up again, just made them eat it with half bun!
