Mount Pleasant Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Western Australia

Food is great if you like fry ups - not overpriced by Perth standards. Mostly a convenient local "Chippie" (try doubling up on the chips for extra value), fish for one is about enough for two adults i.m.o. I've started asking for grilled snapper, which is at least tasty. Service is usually fast even when they're busy. Waiting area is super clean and comfortable if you do have to wait. Gets VERY busy but never waited more than 10-15 mins. Pros: quick, friendly, good portions, tasty standard Aussie fast food, reasonably priced. Out of towners might enjoy this as a typical modern neighbourhood Aussie establishment, with the usual informal, yet well heeled residents - Mt Pleasant is a ritzy area, beautiful if you like checking out the old tree lined, ultra modern homes. Take your fish n chips to a local pier with your understated "flask" and enjoy a late Canning river sunset. Cons: take out only, but they do that well at least. After ordering 2 kids fish and chip packs we were very dissatisfied! The battered fish was pretty good but the crumbed was like oily cardboard. Frustrated and busy getting my 5 month old ready for bed I decide to call and complain. The lady on the phone apologises and tells me I can have a credit or she will remake my order. I decide to have my order remade and ask for it to be done in an hour so I can finish my task of putting kids to bed. My hubby kindly pops down to grab the order and returns only with fish. 1 measley piece of crumbed fish 😢 I call to question the order and the response 'but there was nothing wrong with your chips it was your fish you complained about' Seriously 😡 Who wants to eat battered fish with no chips. We have regularly had issues with their service. We ordered our Fish and Chips over the phone at 6:35pm. They said it would be an hours wait (which quite frankly is ridiculous, but we were keen for the feed). We got to the store at 7:10pm in case they were ready early and while sitting there we saw 3 people walk in, place their orders, and walk out with their feed before we got up at 7:40 to ask how much longer it'd be. They then replied saying they hadn't started to cook it. Absolutely ridiculous. It's just Fish and Chips, it's nothing special. Poor poor performance on a regular basis and it's and absolute joke.
