A simple Google search will tell you that Posto Matto means “crazy place” in that romantic Italian language. And certainly, this restaurant lives up to that moniker with the standard of their food. No doubt, the quality of food and service at Posto Matto is crazy.

I had the great joy of dining here on a resplendent Friday afternoon with my better half. We came at open and had the luxury of the restaurant to ourselves for the beginning of our culinary sojourn. Our host was attentive from the beginning, taking our order quickly and crafting our delicious drinks with the utmost care. I imbibed an enlivening orange mimosa while my lovely lunch date partook in an enchanting raspberry sour.

Our degustation started with the garlic bread. Soft and pillowy with a delectable crust, it is clear the bread is made in-house. The portions were perfectly tailored to be shared between two lovers.

And then our pizzas arrived, perfectly timed after our entree - or “struzzichini”, as our menu proclaimed. I ordered the Pazza - a pizza bianco with rocket, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto and a careful drizzle of balsamic. A symphony of flavours and a textural delight, the Pazza is a culinary masterpiece worthy of the gods themselves. This ambrosia pushes the bounds of what is expected from the humble pizza pie. And at the very reasonable price of $28, the Pazza pizza is a wild, untamed beast - a rebel, if you will.

It was my darling angel’s choice to come here today. She craved the unbeatable experience of a wood-fired pizza, salivating at the thought of the ooey, gooey, oozing mozzarella. Obviously, she kept it simple and ordered the margarita pizza, but couldn’t help but add buffalo mozzarella to the mix. With one bite, she said she was transported to the streets of Napoli, where the air is filled with the heady aroma of freshly baked bread and the sound of joyous laughter. I’ll try to stop myself from waxing rhapsodic about the crust, but I will say that it was exactly what she needed to scratch that itch. It acted as the perfect foil for the rich, tangy tomato sauce and the creamy, mozzarella cheese. But it was the fresh basil leaves that truly set this pie apart, their bright, vibrant flavor adding a touch of whimsy and playfulness to every bite. In short, the margarita pizza was a revelation.

The final piece to this perfect jigsaw puzzle was the carefully curated playlist. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing my beloved dancing in her seat. Nothing - except for maybe the food at...

We have dined here many times, always for dinner. On the weekend we decided to come in for lunch, we were greeted by owner Tushar who with a smile and welcoming manner sat us down to our table. We were quickly attended to by Santanio who ensured we had water and drinks without having to wait or try and flag down. Santanio made the dining experience so much better with his kind attitude and attentiveness. We recieved the same kind of hospitality : service we felt we got in Italy and other dining experiences overseas In similar casual dining establishments . Many restaurants in Perth and some people in general tend to sometimes underestimate how important good customer service is with the whole dining experience. You can have the best food but if service is not nice it can make or break the whole experience. This is why I asked for names as wanted to give credit where it is due. Santanio was wiping tables, chairs, welcoming staff , taking orders very busy and I observed always with enthusiasm and just pleasant demeanour, appeared very attentive to other patrons also in our observations. It also appeared there seemed to be a good relationship mutually respectful and smiles with the owner and staff, this is nice to see. Thank you lastly to the awesome pizza maker, Antonello, truly the best Italian style pizzas we have had outside of Italy! (Coming from someone who lived in Italy for sometime). Tomato base sauce delicious rich and flavourful. Beautiful char on outside crust , nice air bubbles yet light and chewy/ elastic on the inside- perfection crust. Perfect cornicione :-) Pizzas 5/5, delicious polenta fries We would like to try the gnocchi sometime as the photos on other reviews look amazing. Definitely recommend...

🌟A Hidden Gem of Italian Excellence in Osborne Park!

Posto Matto is hands-down one of the best Italian dining experiences I’ve had in Perth. From the moment you walk in, the cozy, homey atmosphere sets the tone for a relaxed and memorable meal. The staff—especially Nataly, Luca, Mila, and Karishma—are warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making your visit special. Their service is consistently top-notch, and you can tell they care about every detail.

The food? Absolutely divine. The gnocchi with beef ragu is a standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. It’s easily the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. The pasta dishes are beautifully presented and taste like they’ve come straight from a nonna’s kitchen. The pizza is authentic, with a perfect crust and fresh toppings, and the tiramisu is the kind of dessert you’ll dream about later.

The background music adds a lovely vibe, and the whole place feels like a slice of Italy tucked away in Osborne Park. Whether you're here for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a celebration with friends, Posto Matto delivers every time.

💯 Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s no surprise they’re rated #1 in the area—this place is a true gem! Bravo, Posto...

Technical sheet “Posto Matto” Atmosphere: 4 Menu: 4 Pizza: 4 Gluten free pizza: 4.5 Staff: 5 Service: 5 Parking: 5 Total: 31.5 out of 35 Final score: 4.5 out of 5 → Recommended Posto Matto is a great Italian restaurant in Perth, located in Osborne Park. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we were there with the “Italian husbands” group, our once-a-month gathering that, for reasons only God knows, always ends up on a Tuesday. The pizzas were really good in the classic Neapolitan style, and even the gluten free version was made with a long fermentation dough, something the Italian pizzaiolo himself proudly confirmed. We left very satisfied. As for the prices, it is the usual Perth standard where a pizza, a drink, and maybe a dessert set you back around fifty dollars per person. But in this case it felt like money well spent. I will definitely be back, because places with this level of quality deserve a second visit.
