Sharky's Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Western Australia

Will never go to this place again. The staff were very rude and the food was expensive and average in quality. The man behind the bar acted as if he was doing me a favour by serving me - he kept me waiting at the bar while my food went cold (and there were only a handful of people there - hardly a full house!). When he did finally serve me he was obnoxious and tried to tell me firstly that my card didn't have paypal when it did, and then when I asked him about the sparkling wine they had he asked me to read the menu. When the sparkling wine arrived, the glass had lipstick on it and I had to take it back to the bar (waited for a while of course while Mr bartender did nothing then decided to attend to me). We spent well over 100 dollars for what is essentially fish and chips and when my pregnant wife asked for some tomato sauce, she was pointed in the direction towards the fridge (after spending over 100 you are still required to spend for a bit of sauce...something you get free with a burger at McDonalds). We sat outside and as it was sunny we raised the umbrellas. These were left up for a while but then the same bartender came and lowered them stating that the wind had picked up (it didn't - it actually reduced) - so rather than allow up to finish our meal we sat in the sun in our faces. He was also very rude when lowering the umbrellas.

Rude rude rude is how i would describe this place. You get more smiles at McDonalds. If you are seeking average overpriced food with rude staff then this...

We had food here for the first time last night (Thursday night). Ordered a take away (2 piece) fish and chips and as my partner doesnt eat seafood they were kind enough to do a takeaway steak sandwich for us (which is not on their takeaway menu).

The fish and chips was a very generous portion, fish was beautiful, creamy white fish and batter was not soggy (which I hate!). Perfectly salted fresh chips. The steak sandwhich was so good - one of the best my partner has had in a long time were his comments. Generous good quality steak which which had not been bashed to a pulp to be made tender. It was thick, perfectly cooked and deliciously tender just as it was. Turkish style bread/roll it was served on was super fresh.

Food was hot, fresh and generous serves. Wonderful service, very friendly and helpful staff. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that we got drinks while we were waiting and beer was cold but soft drink warm. No biggie at the time as I just asked for a glass of ice and was happily given a pint glass loaded with ice by one of the friendly guys behind the bar.

We had take away that night but it is a nice spot to sit outside. Plenty of tables inside as well. Suitable for families, kids...

We ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. We've ordered this dish previously on a Saturday and it was fantastic. I suppose Friday's aren't a day to order Caesar salad because it was an utter let -down today. The only good thing about it was the chef was very generous with the chicken, though the salad itself could have been a bit more sizable. And it was just that on that other Saturday. Secondly, where in the world was the salad dressing that makes Caesar salad taste in the way of that fabulous taste,,,, like it did that one Saturday. There was barely a drop on it. Lastly, and most disappointedly, some of the lettuce leaves were rotting and going off, and beyond that was the horrible sensation of sandy grit towards the bottom of the bowl - ughhhh!! Salad's lettuce not rinsed properly can completely ruin an otherwise delicious salad, but it never even reached such kudos, unfortunately. Suffice to say, I would like to give this restaurant another chance to make good again on this potentially amazing salad, but I think I shall do so...
