Have always liked the venue as my cousin lives close and have been there on numerous occasions but on 31/12 we went there for tea before we headed to the 9pm fireworks show for my daughter. We got there at about 7:30pm grabbed a cold beverage outside so the daughter could play with the other kids and proceeded to look at the menu. Once we new what we wanted my wife went to order as we new the kitchen was only open for orders until 8pm when she got there she was told it was too late and it was a couple minutes before 8pm. My wife thought no worries and come back and told us. I then went to the toilet to see people getting service after my wife and approached and asked the question why and was told it was only sweets which I replied to different people which is 2 different orders meaning that was 2 orders allowed after ours. I was then told they would ask the kitchen and the kitchens response was no they were shutting. Very disappointing not being able to get a Kids meal and a couple of steaks and a parmy which wouldn't be much to sort and for people to get orders after us DISGRACEFUL. Hope the venue can sort this out so it doesn't happen to another family and thanks Hans café for...
Read moreI was in Mandurah for the 2 weeks over Easter with my caravan in tow and nowhere to stay , at the end of the first week I had no money left and no fuel left , the family who own the Silver Sands Tavern were kind enough to let me stay in there carpark for 1 week . They could have kicked me out but didn't , very much appreciated a big thank you to Joyce and Owen who I spoke with . In late February I had frequented the Tavern and spent a fair bit there , the service 10 out of 10 the Barstaff 10 out of 10 the Food 10 out of 10 , a very clean well presented Tavern with something for Everyone , a great place to enjoy R & R only 200 mtr walk from the Ocean , best Tavern I've been to in 50 years , thanks for helping me and giving me hope that their is still a lot of good people in...
Read moreI liked the atmoshere just walking in the door....everything you'd expect a tavern to be, bar taps and bar ladies, pool tables and dart boards, walls laden with relics from yester-year, jukebox and races in the background, bar leaners and barstools, over the counter bistro, 20 angles to watch the footy....ahhhh, I home. 😎👌 In all honesty, never had a bad vibe despite its notorious history. Always been served well with vigour and a smile, the locals are friendly enough to muster a game of pool and respectful enough to leave you in peace. It has a great outdoor sit down area also. I only gave it a 4 star because I know of places I would go to before Silversands. Just being...
