Place definitely wasn't anywhere near busy enough to have the calamity of errors that occured today.
This place needs to sort itself out, the food itself was okay (bit overpriced) and the coffee was excellent.
Order shasuka with chorizo on the side, and sausages on the side (for my baby daughter). Food comes out before the coffee without the sausages and I go up to the counter to ask for where they are. Girl at counter gets confused and asks whether the sausages are in the shasuka? So I'm a bit confused now, and ask someone else what's the go and I get told 'if it's not on your plate then you didn't get them'. Ordinarily you expect a 'sorry my bad, we'll cook them up now.' Lordy, settle down - it's not me to stuffed up the order is it so no need to be so rude. Then to cap it off they came out raw. So I had to ask for a refund for the sausages. So daughter doesn't get the food we ordered and it legitimately seemed like everyone there seemed to lack the awareness that they stuffed up.
Then the coffees came out much later (although coffees themselves were quite good).
The place was not full, it was a rainy day and the inside seats weren't all taken let alone outside. So any benefit of the doubt for rudeness goes out the window a bit.
This place is close to where I live, I wanted this place to be good so we could come back regularly. Don't always get to go out with family and kids often, so certainly don't want to be walking out on a place after you've dropped $50 + frustrated and annoyed. Likely won't be coming back and that's a shame.
Just to sign off with, I'm not usually compelled to write reviews unless a place is truly average or amazingly good. This place certainly is not...
Read moreVisited this cafe on Sunday around 11am. Ordered a slice nutella crepe cake and an iced hojicha latte. Presention of the crepe cake looks wonderful. It has a nice mildy-chewy texture, as expected from multi layered crepes, without being overly sweet. The nutella taste is more of a ‘hint’ but overall taste is adequately balanced, leaning towards neutral. Iced hojicha latte is nice and refreshing. Price is reasonable. The cafe is small, neat, and tidy. The only complaint we have is the lack of air circulation inside. It was extremely stuffy when we were there. The owner opened the door, all fans spinning, and air conds on but that didn’t help much. We came for a dessert and yet we left with oily odour. The smell lingered on our clothing hours after. It was rather unpleasant to stay longer, especially for my pregnant wife, so we left as the number of patrons increased. It was a pity really since we wanted to stay longer and ordered more. 4/5 for food and drinks but 2.5/5 for the atmosphere. We will review the scores if the condition improves. All in all, it’s a good cafe worth visiting, but unfortunately let down by the (lack of) air...
Read moreFirst things first, I was extremely happy that a cafe with such a great menu was so close to home. It's nice to know I don't have to trek far and wide for my hippy preference in beverages. My negative is that I was disappointed that I had to pay $5.30 for the tiniest cup of matcha latte. I get that matcha is more expensive but this has got to be the tinest cup ever! Its funny - the menu stated $5.20 for a small which I grudgingly ordered since I was there, only to be slyly charged $5.70 on the atm machine. When I questioned this I was told it was because that was what "came up on the til" and after clarifying the cost with what was on the menu, I was charged $5.30 because of the card surcharge! This is ridiculous and due to this I probably wouldn't come back to be honest... I noticed the iced matcha latte was in excess of $7!!!! You charge $2 more for frozen water? I know perth prices are getting higher but this place literally took the cake. It's unfortunate because I liked the look of the place and the staff seemed nice too. Maybe I'll go back when they reasses...
