This was the first time we tried Sukho Thai and will be the last. We ordered delivery, the arrival time was good and the delivery lady was pleasant, and that's where the good points of the experience finish. Opening the bag, we were surprised to find our dishes in half-sized take away containers, definitely not a pleasant surprise given the prices. The Pad Thai was a mass of stuck together noodles with not much else. It should have been called a noodle Pad Thai, not a chicken Pad Thai as we thought we were getting. The flavour wasn't even good enough to redeem the dish. The king prawns in the Pla Goong were not grilled as the menu stated and were distinctly lacking in numbers in this watery mess of a 'salad'. The Cry Tiger lived up to its name, it made me cry upon seeing the half sized takeaway container being half empty, most of the contents being chopped lettuce with just a sprinkling of pork over the top. The Jungle Curry was more of a confused soup in the midst of an idenrity crisis, again lacking the beef that was promised. All in all I cannot understand how anyone could order from this place twice. The dishes appeared to be the product of someone who has just learned how to boil an egg and thinks they can cook anything. Worst $70 we've ever spent. Totally...
Read moreUnfortunately if I could rate this any lower I would. I've been to many a restaurant and while I'm no food critic nor would I proclaim myself an expert, this was just a bad dining experience.
The lady at the counter was lovely, her service was polite and attentive and the food was brought out in a timely fashion. That's where it ends though. The curry tasted EXACTLY like tom kha gai, it's base mostly coconut soup with possibly a teaspoon worth of curry paste. We had Panang Beef and Red Curry Duck, however if we were served these at a blind tasting to 'guess the dish'...you would not have been able to distinguish the meat (the beef was flavourless and plastic) let alone the curry.
Thought we'd give it a second chance after previously having a nice curry but bad Pad Thai (learnt from my mistake that time and even though I love Pad Thai didn't order it tonight), yet the decision to try here again proved disappointing and we went through Hungry Jacks afterwards.
This review is not to tarnish hard working people or small business' as they are the backbone of the industry and an integral part of the community and food industry. I believe honesty is the best policy, and this was honestly not a...
Read moreVisited here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. A friend booked the table and when I arrived I was met with a smile and seated promptly. There was only one other very large table of approximately 20 people placed next to us and it transpired they were a birthday party. Sadly we hadn't been warned of this when our booking was taken and this overshadowed what could have been a perfect evening. We ordered a banquet between 5 of us and can honestly state that every dish was perfectly cooked and delicious to taste and the portions were generous. The service was excellent and apologies kept being made for any delays due to the other table although I have to say our only real issue was the noise as we were unable to hold a conversation with anyone bar the person next to us unless we shouted. I shall revisit as the food was yummy but I will ensure there are no large parties booked...
