The Kwinana Local — Restaurant in Western Australia

Was fantastic when it first opened but the food quality is going down hill very fast! I have dined here 6 times now since change over from admiral and everytime the food quality has been declining. They obviously do not use a wire brush on the chargrill every so often throughout kitchen service and everything cooked on it tastes like burnt whatever was cooked beforehand. Am not going to get into all the nitty gritties of every single time we have dined but it was always something wrong or not right with our meals. Major recent example being, they use allergens as "garnish" without stating so on the menu which is very careless, especially when it is also something as robust as oily pesto bleeding onto everything on plate, changing the complete flavour of the dish. Garnish is supposed to compliment a dish, not completely change the flavour! But all in all, I must declare the service is really great! Bar, bottleshop and wait staff are lovely, attentive, helpful and polite. The establishment itself is clean, tidy, modern and comfortable. It really is just a shame about the food. I will however continue to dine here in the hopes of improvement as the service staff are so lovely and welcoming. If the quality improves i will return to give more stars but until then, I am reluctantly only...

From the opinions of not only our table. The Father’s Day lunch at the Kwinana local today was an absolute abomination. Worst celebration of our fathers having to deal with hostility from the start.

We had a 12:30pm booking and was told at 12:48pm that we had reached our time limit and had to go. Misunderstanding we understood and tried to enjoy our lunch.

40min wait for a cocktail and 2 hour wait for food (that’s not inclusive of time spent in the line waiting to order). Only receiving the cocktail after going asking for it.

Wish I could say that the food or the cocktails were so good that you could ignore the terrible management and organisation of a well known busy day in hospitality unfortunately that was way past subpar. Burnt gnocchi that was dense and floury the short ribs was over cooked and barely any meat, cold Mac and cheese and the garlic prawns were terrible. Would have been nice for staff to appreciate our frustration with the service received.

The manager coming to our table to ask us “well what do you want” should be better equipment with people skills and have a bit more empathy and problem solving skills.

Rude staff had my meal served to me and as the waiter puts it down she spills half the chips over me and just says woops sorry and walks away, thinking she was just going to get something to clean it up with but no doesn’t come back, after waiting for her to come back and realising she wasn’t I cleaned it up to the best I could myself, by now I’m feeling angry and embarrassed she then comes back 10 minutes later asking how our meals were to then I asked to make sure that it was her who served our meals and I told her well apart from having half of it spilt on me she then said very quickly and rudely people make mistakes (now I completely understand that but nothing was done to fix the fact now half of the chips were wasted and all over me) and then went on very rudely how it’s been a busy night and she could clean it up now I relied don’t even worry now and she said people make mistakes and I’m not like you! I am very disgusted that this is the way you deal with a situation and no compensation besides come in for a round of drinks on us like I would ever want to go back in there ruined night...
