Yada Thai Kalgoorlie — Restaurant in Western Australia

I’m so torn about this place. The food firstly, is amazing! 10/10 for the food. The service however… is a little questionable. First time I went, the waitress forgot to put our order through. After an hours long wait, I asked how much longer we would be waiting, and found out they had to put the order through. By this time it was 8pm and we had been there since 6:30. Because the food was great, went there a second time. Booked online, got a confirmation email, but no table for 2 when we got there. We did get a table, but the waitress there, doesn’t really like to hurry very much, so took her time in getting it ready for us. Had to call her over to get service, then had to go up and ask to get our Coke after 15 mins of waiting, even though she was sitting behind the counter not actually doing anything. The waitress isn’t very tentative and almost acted like it was a chore to take our order. However, if you’re able to go in with the mindset, that you may have to be pushy to get your food and drinks in a timely manner, and enjoy fresh Thai cuisine, then go for it. We came to Kalgoorlie 2 years ago and stumbled on this restaurant. We dined in and had a wonderful meal. The food was delicious and plentiful. Fast forward to tonight. We drove into town from Perth, ordered takeaway because we were late. Oh my goodness. The takeaway containers were the medium size shallow ones. Every single one of them was half full. Even the rice. Masaman curry had one piece of potato and 4 pieces of beef. We bought the Chinese vegetables with crispy pork belly that wasnt. We bought 6 dishes for 5 people and had to have toast afterwards. I rang to express my disappointment and the young girl I spoke to told me those dishes were normal size. Despite being delicious we will not buy from them again. Booked a table at 7pm after great recommendations. Asked where the toilet was, to be informed there is a line and then server walked away. After asking a second server, was shown where the toilets where (bit of a journey out the back) Ordered at 7:15pm, and asked for table water. At 8pm had been continually ignored, not even bringing the water to the table. Entree came at 8:10pm (chicken wings), quite tasty, but hard to enjoy after the long wait. 8:30pm one of the two mains came out cold (massaman curry) - so bad the oil had separated from the cream. A complete disgrace of a evening, after speaking to management, informed of a number of excuses (staffing/kitchen utilities). Offered a 15% discount - total cop out.
