Our recent visit to Kalahari - A Taste of Africa in Willetton, Perth was nothing short of extraordinary! As a group of eight colleagues celebrating our end-of-year lunch, we were treated to a unique and delightful experience that left us raving about this hidden gem.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the "choose your own steak" concept, allowing us to handpick our favorite cuts from the fridge, and watching as the skilled chefs transformed them into mouthwatering masterpieces. The personalized touch to our meals made the dining experience both interactive and memorable.
The ambiance at Kalahari is warm, inviting, and exudes a cozy charm. It provided the perfect backdrop for our gathering, creating an atmosphere where we could relax, unwind, and savor the delicious flavors of African cuisine. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive vibe, making us feel right at home.
Beyond the delightful main courses, the coffee at Kalahari deserves a special mention. Served with care and precision, it was the perfect accompaniment to our hearty meal. The attention to detail in every aspect of our dining experience, from the food to the service, truly sets Kalahari apart.
For those looking to bring a taste of Africa into their own kitchens, Kalahari offers a unique selection of African spices and dried meats. We couldn't resist taking some home to continue the culinary adventure at our own dinner tables.
In conclusion, Kalahari - A Taste of Africa is more than just a restaurant; it's an immersive culinary journey. Whether you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious lunch, sip on excellent coffee, or explore the vibrant world of African flavors, Kalahari is the perfect destination. Our end-of-year celebration was elevated to a whole new level thanks to the delightful offerings and warm hospitality at Kalahari. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining...
Read moreCustomer Service- appalling. My wife, mother inlaw and toddler were just served at this venue. Completely and utterly racist behaviour by the mature women (Barista). Our table name was selected by our appearance rather than at random... we were assessed up and down and she grabbed and slammed the table name "ZULU" on the counter whilst the young lady proceeded to take our order. We were told about our options: $7 for a slice milk tart or a whole milk tart for $20 (young lady was upselling which is just right when you're selling goods). My Mother inlaw opted for a whole milk tart and then the young lady gave a knife to cut a slice. A disgusted face and whispers were made by mature woman (barista) to the young girl. My Mother inlaw cut the milk tart, gave the knife back and I paid for our groceries and sat down waiting for our order. Barista calculated her timing to wait to make comments AFTER we've paid our total of $147.50 for our groceries and café order. Her comment was "We don't cut a milk tart on premises it's TAKE AWAY ONLY. If you want a slice you'd have to buy a slice for $7". My order of sausage and chips were torched.... overly cooked and hard pieces of chips for $15.00. After spending a decent amount of money on grocery items AND a meal, I would've expected so much more when it comes to customer service. Any establishment that offers whole cakes ect. would be more than happy to serve a slice of your bought product with a plate and fork. But be told NOT to cut a slice of milk tart and its TAKE AWAY ONLY is utterly absurd. Not very impressed at all for my first visit to this establisbment and it was certainly my...
Read moreToday my husband, myself and our baby came here to celebrate his birthday. Food was fantastic, service was a real disappointment compared to every other time we've visited. Hubby was trying to find something for our baby to eat, like soft eggs on the side, but the waitress unfortunately wasn't keen to be flexible... "no, we can't cook anything apart from what's on the menu!" Hubby then tried to think of the most appropriate menu item for our 11 month old, with the waitress asking repeatedly, "anything else? Anything else?" Hubby felt rushed and didn't appreciate her rudeness. We couldn't figure out what was the urgency as the cafe certainly wasn't full of customers that time of the day.
I used to be a waitress so I get how things can get busy behind the scenes, but I'd never dream of being so rude and inconsiderate to customers. We certainly won't be back with our baby in any case. Great food as always, but it'd be great if the wait staff should remember that their quality of service affects how customers enjoy their...
