This place is wonderful, for a relaxing day, with plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately, our day was spoilt when we went to park our car just in front of the carpark area of Harbourfront Seafood Restuarant in the 4hr zone. We had bikes mounted on the roof, of our car, so we were selective as to which carspot we could use so our bikes would not hit the trees above. We noticed a vacant car spot next to a red car with a white woman who had her car door open obstructing the vacant car space. We politely asked her to close her car door so we could get into the vacant car space next to her. She told us that we couldn't park there as she was minding that space for a friend? She proceeded to tell us "you can park there", pointing to another car space. We explained to her that the car space she pointed out was 2hrs parking and we needed a 4hr car space and additionally we had the bikes mounted so the space next to her was most suited. She then continued to insist that we park where she wanted us to park. I could not believe the entitlement of this woman! We did eventually move on, and found another car space, well away from where she was parked. As we didn't want to have to deal with her sense of entitlement. Other than this had a lovely day and beautiful...
Read moreBelmont Basin is a wonderful place for a walk. The views are beautiful, and with the newly upgraded walking track it’s one of my favourite places to take a stroll. There are a couple of lovely restaurants you can frequent along the walk, too, to make a bit more of a day out of it. If it’s a hot day, you can swim in any of the neighbouring beaches, or even in the harbour itself. Sand castle competitions have been held at the harbour on occasion, so I assume the sand is adequate for making sand castles. I’ve also witnessed people rowing and kayaking in the harbour and beyond, so there’s that. Not to mention the children’s play equipment overlooking the harbour if your kids want something to do. The track is dog friendly also, so if you want to bring along your good boy for a walk, that’s definitely an option. It’s essentially a place...
