This place is wonderful, for a relaxing day, with plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately, our day was spoilt when we went to park our car just in front of the carpark area of Harbourfront Seafood Restuarant in the 4hr zone. We had bikes mounted on the roof, of our car, so we were selective as to which carspot we could use so our bikes would not hit the trees above. We noticed a vacant car spot next to a red car with a white woman who had her car door open obstructing the vacant car space. We politely asked her to close her car door so we could get into the vacant car space next to her. She told us that we couldn't park there as she was minding that space for a friend? She proceeded to tell us "you can park there", pointing to another car space. We explained to her that the car space she pointed out was 2hrs parking and we needed a 4hr car space and additionally we had the bikes mounted so the space next to her was most suited. She then continued to insist that we park where she wanted us to park. I could not believe the entitlement of this woman! We did eventually move on, and found another car space, well away from where she was parked. As we didn't want to have to deal with her sense of entitlement. Other than this had a lovely day and beautiful...

Belmont Basin is a wonderful place for a walk. The views are beautiful, and with the newly upgraded walking track it’s one of my favourite places to take a stroll. There are a couple of lovely restaurants you can frequent along the walk, too, to make a bit more of a day out of it. If it’s a hot day, you can swim in any of the neighbouring beaches, or even in the harbour itself. Sand castle competitions have been held at the harbour on occasion, so I assume the sand is adequate for making sand castles. I’ve also witnessed people rowing and kayaking in the harbour and beyond, so there’s that. Not to mention the children’s play equipment overlooking the harbour if your kids want something to do. The track is dog friendly also, so if you want to bring along your good boy for a walk, that’s definitely an option. It’s essentially a place...

Beach Cove, Belmore basin is a great place to visit in Wollongong, particularly if you like beaches and beach activity. It is located on a small beach in Wollongong Harbor. The two main surfing beaches in Wollongong are immediately north and south of Belmore Basin and accessible by easy walking/jogging/ bike tracks. Beach Cove itself offers great a paddling beach and is also suitable for paddle boards or kayaks. There is an endless variety of things to do in the immediate vicinity. 2 patrolled beaches, lots of eateries from basic to fine dining, swimming pool, scenic walks to Flagstaff Hill and Wollongong's two light houses and Wollongong Harbour and breakwater (fishing charters etc). For the more adventurous 'Skydive the Beach' is a 10 minute walk away. Accommodation is 5...

Great family place to hang out, its real name is Belmore Basin, Wollongong Harbour it’s not Cove Beach. It’s particularly nice and protected in most wind directions but the most protected in a southerly wind. Real name is Brighton Beach, Belmore Basin Water can be a little dirty after large rain fall as the city streets drain into the harbour. This is still a working harbour with fishing trawlers and boat repair shops. It would be great for the community if one day it became a dedicated recreational harbour.

Absolutely stunning water views, a wonderful walk alone the beach, playground is perfect for the little ones with a delicious fish and chip shop next door. Lots of shade or sunshine, depending on where you want to sit. Lots of rocks pools to explore, we enjoyed looking for crabs and were lucky enough to see an octopus! Only down side, while climbing on the rocks my 4 year old found used needles (thankfully they were capped). Keep an eye on the kids and keep shoes on. Otherwise, perfection.

An enclosed safe harbour area with lovely long beach. Because of the breakwater, the water is calm. A number of small to medium boats anchored here. Beach is more popular during the weekend. Entry is free. Plenty of parking here and near the lighthouse. Toilets nearby. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. As we did, you can see humpback whales migrating south. Also, 4 day World triathlon championship held here during our visit
