My friend and I went to the North Wollongong Hotel after having a great day in Wollongong, looking for a nice lunch. Unfortunately this was not what happened. The wait was a bit long, which would have been fine if the food was why we had asked for. I ordered the Un-American burger with only meat, cheese, egg and bacon, the server went over this with me multiple times. Now after the long wait we were then given a burger covered in sauce. I spoke to the server and was told that there was nothing they could do, they wouldn’t make it, only replace the bun with the items covered in sauce. I had never been to a establishment that refused to remake my food when they have made it wrong, I thought this may have been due to the bistro closing, as I was trying to eat my food, I then saw others ordering food! I had never had a worse experience and felt so unsatisfied. The food was not what I had asked for and the items that were correct were not very nice. It changed my whole feeling towards the establishment. Other than this the place is a nice little pub but I would never order food again.

Edit- I commend this venue for the way they handled my issue, very understanding and apologetic. I appreciate the owner replying and asking to speak further, I called and was able to feel they listened and would...

Very disappointing with our experience today. We went there for lunch after the Sydney to Wollongong bike ride. It was busy as expected and there was a fight on the tv so the place was packed. We expected to wait a while and we were advised that the wait was 45min for buffalo wings , loaded fries and a nachos. After more than an hour we followed it up. The manager gave us a drink voucher. We were worried when we saw some buffalo wings served to the next table. They appears under cooked and they were sent back. Buffalo wings are usually marinated with a glazed spicy sauce. These wings came out with no marinate and covered with some creamy source. They were also under cooked . I cracked one open and blood dropped out. The loaded fries were burnt. We demanded our money back and the manager said he gave us a free drink. We replied that was for the over 1 hr delay. Eventually he refunded the money and we left only to eat at Hungry Jacks. Very...

Completely dropped the ball. It was my fiancĂ©s birthday yesterday and his request was a pub dinner and we were very disappointed. We put in a order for a chicken schnitzel and battered fish which came out roughly 4-6 minutes after ordering which tells me everything was pre cooked and not to order, being a Thursday night and not busy there is no excuse for this. Both came out very pale and very oily/greasy. Chips were not seasoned and cold and my fiancĂ©e mushroom sauce tasted like it was made from a low quality gravy powered mix. Male toilets were disgusting and smelt like they had not been cleaned in weeks. The only reason I’m posting 2 stars is because we could bring our frenchbulldog, however I was panicked the entire time as there was cooked chicken wing bones on the ground and he almost ate one. I only post reviews when our experiences are particularly bad, north gong had massively dropped the ball and we...

North Gong is an amazing venue that I go to all the time in big groups or small catch ups with friends! However I’ve noticed the food prices are getting more and more expensive while the food is getting worse. I went in a big group on Friday night and got the vegan schnitzel. For $21 I was expecting a decent meal, then was charged an extra $1.80 for tomato sauce which I didn’t dispute. The “schnitzel” had barely any flavour and fell apart as soon as the fork touched it - tasted a bit like mush with a hint of Keen’s Curry powder. It came with chips and salad, and I literally only got 10 chips (pictured) and they were soaked with the weird curry mix. I will still come to North Gong as I love the venue and atmosphere but probably won’t eat the meals anymore. Hopefully the team takes this feedback on board and makes sure customers are getting better value for money, especially for vegetarian meals 😊

We walked in and there was a long queue at the bar with only one staff working at the bar. There were schooner cups and wine glasses everywhere on the bar counter and on dirty tables. The queue was long but we had no other choice to go to another bar because it was the only bar opened on 26th December 2022 (public holidays). After waiting at the queues for 20mins, the lady served us whilst she was asking her work colleagues when she should go on break. She just took her time and was holding onto the change whilst chatting away with her work colleague đŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™€ïž. On top of this... She under poured my wine. I mentioned it to her but she said that it's on the line (when it clearly isn't-see photo). My first and last time going to this bar.
