ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! Disclaimer: I have never written a review before but I couldn’t live with myself if I had not taken action in preventing/warning others from getting extremely ill and wasting money. Anyway... on with my experience.

Having a fish market so close to Wollongong beach... you would think that seafood would be fresh, right? Well that’s what I thought going into this provider. Boy was I wrong! Firstly when we walked in we were after a specific type of fish from a very small variety of whole vessels. (You actually need to see the whole fish to determine freshness). Anywho! We had to settle with fillets of fish... We were reassured and guaranteed that the fish was filleted FRESH TODAY! So we went ahead and purchased the seafood. We drove straight home to cook... as soon as we opened the package of fish our nightmare began. The fish emitted a foul and offensive odour and was unusually dry. We decided to try cooking it anyway just in case it had been touching other sea food at the store. However as we cooked it... the fish was literally turning to rubber before our eyes. It was literally SO OLD that when we went to press it with a spatula it bounced back! I didn’t even know fish could be tough... as a chef I know it’s supposed to flake into delicate pieces. I honesty believe if my family and I had consumed this grotesque seafood we would have become violently ill. I’ve had to throw away ALL of the fish which I had purchased and had a disappointed and starving family. I sincerely recommend everyone to avoid at all costs necessary as I would hate to think anyone would experience this again.

Would not even give one star... unfortunately google keeps the internet kind enough that everyone gets a...

I used to love harbour side great food and service but today I was severely disappointed. After order ordering our meal we sat down and waited for about 15 minutes which is normal no stress. But then we were informed that they had forgotten about us and fit hadn’t even been started. Whatever no worries we wait another 15 minutes get our order and drive to the lighthouse. Now considering this isn’t McDonald’s I didn’t think I would have to check we received all the food we paid for but I was wrong, when we open the bag we find we are missing the piece of fish we bought and paid for $7 mind you. So yes I am upset believe you should do better considering all up it...

Harbourside Fish Market and Café is a great spot to enjoy fresh and tasty seafood when passing through Wollongong. We especially enjoyed the Kilpatrick oysters and the classic fish and chips, both of which were cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The seafood here is known for being fresh and well-prepared, making it a reliable stop for a casual but delicious meal.

There is plenty of parking space, which makes it convenient for travellers, including those in larger vehicles. The cafĂ© is also located right next to a bottle shop, so it’s easy to pick up drinks for later. One thing to note: the shop prefers cash, so it’s best to have...

Went to Kiama for a nice day and on our way back we popped in to have seafood. One of the staffs named Rebecca, she is very welcoming, friendly and respectful. She treated us very professionally and helped to choose from the menu. Food is very yummi, tasty and smell sooooo nice. Salad is fresh and looks awesome 👏 Even we were there at the last minute but we did enjoy our time. I have noticed customers kept popping in a few minutes before they close. It means this premise has a good reputation and has a really nice service. Thanks Rebecca and everyone who works there for welcoming us.... we will definitely comeback when we around 👍👍👍

Definitely one of the highlights of the area. We came just at closing, the serving staff still allowed us to order despite it was already past 6pm their closing time. She was polite and courteous, and didn't rush us or treat us any different. Kudos. Their food was as good as their service, special mention to their chips, some of the best I've tasted from a 'fish and chip' place. Their crumbed seafood definitely crunchy and provide a point of difference to other places. Would return and recommend for anyone looking for great fish and chip in the area.
