Bar28 — Restaurant in Graz

I've enjoyed the atmosphere at this bar. Me and my girl recommend it.

It gave us such a Graz vibe 😁.

We visited in May, the weather outside was getting warm so everybody was sited at the outside terrace. There are cars passig by since it is a norma neighborhood street, but the people in Graz don't use cars that much so it was not noisy, nor problematic.

We had some beers. Weissbier for me, pale ale for my girl. On the food side we wanted some fries or chips, we didn't see that on the menu so we stuck with our beers. They have burgers, nachos and stuff but we did not try them.

Another aspect to take into account is that above the bar there are residential apartments and it is recommended to keep your voice down. We were ok with that.

The Bar28 is one of this great pubs of the big pub scene of Graz, you don’t want to miss. This pub is located right next to the Technische Universität Graz, the famous TU Graz, or also known as the Alte Technik, since its beautiful building is from the 19th Century in contrast to the new campus of the Technische Universität Graz. They serve food like snacks, toasts and sandwiches and of course many brands of beer. So this place is a hub for the students of Graz and you will meet many folks here, probably the usual suspects and some new friends here. And a special feature of this pub is its table football, and its pool billard table. The staff is friendly and partly international by the way.

I recently had a disappointing experience at a bar-restaurant. I had reserved a table, and when I arrived, the waitress simply told me, "Your name is on the table, go find it." However, there were no tables available, so we ended up sitting in a terrible spot. We ordered chicken nachos, which were awful—the chicken was dried out and overcooked, and there wasn't enough salsa. We had to order extra guacamole just to make the nachos somewhat edible. I can't understand the good reviews about the food. The burger was no better than what you'd find at any other average place in the city.
