I have just returned to sunny South Africa after spending 10 nights at Hotel Nevada. We last stayed there 4 years ago, and although we enjoyed it, we enjoyed it more this time. On our last visit, we found the staff courteous, but not very friendly and communication in English was difficult. This time round, they were superb. Extremely helpful and went out of their way to assist us whenever required. The outside apre Ski bar is also much improved now being completely covered and with sufficient heaters to keep you warm and toasty while the snow falls around you. This has obviously not gone un-noticed, as it was always busy. The downstairs apre ski bar was still great and provided a lively atmosphere, although very smokey (I just wish Austria would ban smoking indoors as this was experienced everywhere in Ischgl).||The food was of a consistently good standard, and again, due to the queues outside every night, has not gone un-noticed.||The wellness centre is clean, well serviced and of a high standard.||The hotel rooms are extremely large (compared to other ski village hotels), modern and comfortable. We did however have a large spotlight outside our hotel room window, which did interfere with our sleep. We chose not to mention it to the hotel and I'm confident they would have rectified the situation should we have asked.||All in all, this is a hidden gem. Very fairly priced, in my preferred location in the village, great food, great people and a choice of 3 bars. What more can you ask for. My only concern is that many others will agree with me, and getting into the hotel in future may be more...

Read moreWe were a little disappointed not to have found accommodation inthe town centre and entered this hotel situated at the edge of town with some skepticism. ||We needn't have worried. The hotel is clean and the rooms (and balcony) are large and comfortable. There is no bath in the bathroom but for that the bathroom is also larger than most in similar hotels.||Parking is no problem - there is a basement garage and plenty of space outside.||The breakfast was adequate, but what really surprised was the food quality of the dinner kitchen. We tried pizza and meat dishes on two nights and were pleasantly surprised on both evenings. What with the great apres ski bar outside, one does not have to leave the hotel at night.||And the best is, the new ski lift is just a few hundred metres from the front door.||To be...
