**Please realize the Restaurant & Menu has been upgraded & UPDATED...I will post pictures with this review. It's not a Pizza place anymore....go to Centro or S'Kitz if that's what you want. We had an excellent dining experience across the board, no wonder....Paolo & Fiore are here!!! This was our first visit to Das Neue Grief....Federico was extremely friendly by welcoming us inside and showing us around in the inside bar & different dining areas.....he is not just a waiter, but a waiter who's artistic work graces the walls of the restaurant with contemporary flair and vibrant colors. Each dining section of the restaurant has a different personality...so sit where it most suits you. Many gravitated to the large, back area where Federico painted a turquoise wall of ocean with boats, we sat in a smaller area with dim lights and exceptional service by Fiore. Our whole Steinbutt was cooked by Andrea, Mediterranean style from the oven and was filleted tableside and was the best we've ever had....it's pricey but worth it. Here you get what you pay for, versus some other places. The wine list compliments the food being served, and the beer flows from the tap from the bar. Super cozy atmosphere and can accommodate larger groups and couples as well! They also have a Mittagsmenu offering changing lunch specials at a reasonable price. The most important task for Das Neue Grief is to distance itself from the former Grief menu which should be deleted and not confused with the much better restaurant menu now. We are so happy to see Paolo & Fiore relocated here & establishing this restaurant as a cozy, delicious locale in the city. Spread the word!!! See you soon, Kristin &...
Read moreWe booked a table based on old photos of the previous restaurant hoping to grab some pizza. Turns out they no longer do pizzas and they were also out of a lot of the menu when we arrived. We were told that they couldn’t change the old google page to show they no longer serve pizza. Service was friendly but we had to ask for the wine menu several times. Also all of the wine glasses were dirty and we had to ask them to change them. Once the food arrived it was very very small portions. 4 of us ordered ravioli and only got maybe 7 pieces. All for 20€. We also asked specifically for tap water but were then charged for it and when we asked the waiter he said that it was normal to charge for tap water. Also as former restaurant worker myself, standard practise worldwide is to step away as a server once presenting the bill as to not pressure a customer for a tip.
I later asked some locals who said it’s not normal to charge for tap water. The service was fine and friendly but honestly , even being in a ski town , the food was over priced and the water charge was...
Read moreCAREFUL, this restaurant is NOT as advertised. This restaurant has completely rebranded and changed since the vast majority of the images and reviews here. We did have a lovely meal in the end, but this is now fine dining and it wasn't at all what we thought we had booked, this is not a casual place and there isn't a pizza to be seen, let alone ones at the prices on the menu someone else posted. This is pretty fancy and we honestly felt a little under dressed and out of place. The first server was rude and pressured us when we opted not to have any starters, but then someone else seemed to take over who was really lovely! So staff were very mixed. We had some really good espresso martinis though so credit to the barman. Overall we enjoyed, because we are adaptable people and like nice restaurants too, just wasn't at all what we expected our...
