A night at Zuma Kitzbühel is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. The venue is effortlessly chic, blending modern elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, we felt well taken care of, thanks in no small part to our amazing server, Kate (Katarina). She was attentive, personable, and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the night.
We started with the Shrimp and Cod Gyoza and Miso Soup, both of which were absolutely delicious. The gyoza had that perfect crispiness, and the filling was flavorful and well-balanced. The miso soup was rich, comforting, and everything you’d hope for. The Watercress Salad with Wasabi Dressing was a surprising highlight—refreshing yet bold. I felt the wasabi hit my nose, yet I couldn’t stop eating it. It was addictive in the best way!
For mains, my husband ordered the Grilled Chilean Seabass with green chilli ginger dressing, which was executed flawlessly delicate, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I opted for two types of sushi, and while they were fresh, they didn’t quite meet the high standard I expected from Zuma. I’ve had better sushi elsewhere, and I think their strengths lie more in their robata grill and signature hot dishes.
One area that fell short was the Gin Sours I ordered. A gin sours without a proper citrus punch is a miss. It lacked the expected balance, and I found it quite bland. A little more acidity would have elevated it.
While service was generally excellent, there was a small issue with timing. My husband had ordered a side to accompany his seabass, but it never arrived with the main dish. By the time we inquired, he had already finished his meal. Kate was kind enough to check with the chef, and we were able to cancel the order, which was appreciated. However, it’s something the kitchen should be more mindful of—sides should complement the main dish, not arrive as an afterthought.
We wrapped up our meal with the Zuma Deluxe Dessert Platter, and wow—what an indulgence! A beautifully presented mix of fresh fruit, sorbet, and two of their signature desserts, it was visually stunning and tasted just as good as it looked. It was the perfect way to end the night.
Overall, we had a wonderful evening at Zuma Kitzbühel. While there were a couple of minor missteps, the atmosphere, service, and standout dishes made up for it. I’d absolutely return, but next time, I’d explore more of their signature hot dishes instead of sushi. With a few refinements, this could easily be a five-star experience.

Read moreTo all the people that love spending a small fortune for bad service, average food and arrogant staff behavior.
We have had some of the worst experiences here and this not for the first time.
Today, we had a reservation for 7pm and at 6.30pm we got a call from a lady called Maria, telling us we missed our reservation for 5pm. After trying to explain that we had spoken yesterday (after ZUMA called me to confirm that they have changed our table from 5pm to 7pm), she just got angry and and told us that this is not true and that this never happened. Funny enough my phone history shows something different. But that is probably the philosophy of this place here in KITZ.
I am sure that this would have not happened in any other ZUMA somewhere else in the world! I wonder why? You probably need to know someone, that knows someone else here in Kitzbühel!
We tried to explain that we had guests already on the way to the restaurant. But the only thing they said that they could do, is let us wait until 9pm in the corner and hope that another reservation got canceled.
Not very professional, considering that this place charges 250€+ per person on a casual night out.
It is probably better to close this particular ZUMA to not ruin the reputation of...
Read moreI had booked a table at Zuma Kitzbühel weeks in advance, anticipating a great evening. Throughout this time, they repeatedly called (3 times) to confirm the reservation, which felt excessive but reassuring. However, on the day of the reservation, at the exact time of the reservation, upon our arrival, I’m informed that the booking had been cancelled. How ? For which reason ? Why so late ?!
After several frustrating discussions, they came up with a bizarre and completely fabricated excuse: someone supposedly called them pretending to be us, claiming we’d had an accident on the road and wouldn’t be able to come. This is an outright lie. No such call was ever made, and their behavior was both insulting and unprofessional. They probably wanted to give the table to someone else ?! Then they offer no alternative, nothing !
The staff were shockingly rude and unapologetic, doubling down on their false claims rather than owning up to their mistake. If this is their idea of hospitality, they should go back to hospitality school.
Zuma Kitzbühel is an embarrassment to the hospitality industry . Dishonest, unprofessional, and disgracefully impolite—avoid this place like the plague. Save yourself the trouble and...
