Schwarze Kuchl — Restaurant in Krems an der Donau

We went there because it was probably the only restaurant opened in the Wachau Valley. The food was correct, in terms of quality and value for money. The surprise was when they brought the bill, and had charged 12 euros for the bread, they didn't ask for the number of bread pieces that we wanted and didn't indicate the price on the menu, results, 8 little pieces of bread, 12 euros, 1.5€/each, furthermore they charged 1.5€ for a glass of tap water. I must say that we asked for the bread, they said 5 minutes, but they brought it after 20 or more, so we didn't even have time to eat it all and took it with us. VERY...

Came here because of the recommendations from Google, The food was good, we had Gulasch supe and Wachau gulasch which was really good. The down thing for this place was how they treated us, when we got the bill to pay, they charged us with tap water 1.4€ each person. And one semmel for 1.5€. They should have told us they are going charge us for tap water and bread that usually comes together with the soup. When we asked the waiter why didn't you tell us that they charge us for it, she laughed and stayed this is how it is in Austria and we are suppose to know that already.....

My partners in crime and I, were after a classic regional dish, representing the country side. The Gulasch, DID NOT dissapoint.

It was divine, soft and tender, dipped into a mouth watering sauce. We had a variation of serviettenknodel, Spezle, and Brezeln. In combination with one of many Wines, the Wachau valley has to offer, the summary, was just exquisite. EXQUISITE.

Further for desserts, we had Mohr im Hemd and MarillienKnodeln. Also for recommendation.
