Phở Hà Nội — Restaurant in Linz

Authentic Vietnamese in Linz. Highly recommend if you're looking for authenticity and real Vietnamese food(specially for Pho)! The size of the restaurant is decent, about 40seats with parking. We visited for lunch, it was pretty fun, but yet service was nice and fast. Their lunch menu consists of vegetarian springroll or soup of the day and a main with plenty of choices. It costs between 6,90 and 7,90. We ordered Pho Bo(soup noodle with beef) and Pho Ga(soup noodle with chicken). Soup of the day was sweet and sour soup. It's tasty but rather standard. The springroll was freshly fried, crispy but not hard nor greasy. If you liked those Wok take away at Taubenmarkt, you should really try this! For the noodle, soup was nicely flavoured, meat was tender. I like to add a bit lemon juice into the soup, but it's all personal favourite. As an Asian, authenticity is very important, and Pho Hanoi won't disappoint you if that's what you're looking for. Food was great and the reason why I came back the second time around but my first impression of the service didn’t change. The staff (eastern asian guy) who gets the order isn’t very friendly or welcoming at all. He might have tried but hospitality service isn’t just about getting orders or making them sit at tables but also making the customer feel that you are happy to have them sit and eat at your restaurant. Also me being bi/trilingual he probably didn’t think that I understood their conversation at the kitchen when they were making fun of me when I said thank you upon receiving my order. UPDATE 2022:

Location: Gelegen an einer Hauptstraße. Man kann draußen sitzen. Sitzt dann halt direkt am Beton auf Gartensessel mit dementsprechend ein paar Schirmen. Sehr sehr einfach gehalten. Innen wurde mal renoviert. Man sitzt in riesigen Stoffsessel. Wirkt für mich nicht passend aber zumindest ist es halbwegs neu.

Essen: GUT. Waren in letzter Zeit 2 Mal dort. Einmal WOK Gericht einmal Pho. Pho war dort schon mal besser. Es gibt Mittagsmenüs um 9.50 wahlweise mit Mini Frühlingsrollen oder Miso Suppe. Mittagsmenüs wechseln nicht täglich, sondern man hat eine Auswahl von 9 Mittagsmenüs. Was ich schwierig finde, die Mittagsmenüs auf der Homepage sind/waren andere als im Restaurant selbst. Online sieht man zum Beispiel Pho Ga nicht als Mittagsmenü, aber im Restaurant gibt es sie als Mittagsmenü.

Bedienung: Wahrscheinlich das Schlechteste am ganzen Restaurant. Waren vor ein paar Wochen dort. Draußen war es nicht ganz so schön, aber wir wollten im Freien sitzen. Da hat es unfreundlich geheißen: Gastgarten nicht offen. Dann saßen wir drinnen und wurden 15 Minuten nicht bedient!!!! Kellner gingen allesamt immer an uns vorbei. Das Beste war das am Tisch neben uns abkassiert wurde und wir trotzdem danach nicht bedient wurden. Wir haben dann das Restaurant verlassen.

Beim nächsten Mal war ein anderer Kellner. Dieser war zwar schnell aber nicht besonders freundlich. Man merkte er macht den Job halt einfach um Geld zu verdienen. Wir bekamen die Getränke und wollten gleich das Mittagsmenü bestellen, hieß es: Moment! und der Kellner verschwand und kam mit einem Notizblock wieder. (Info, wir waren zu zweit).

Fazit: Fürs Essen zu empfehlen. Wahrscheinlich besser für Lieferdienst als direkt im Restaurant Essen.

Was noch negativ erwähnt werden muss, ein großes Bier kostet fast 5 Euro. Natürlich wird alles teurer, aber das Verhältnis passt einfach nicht. 2 Bier kosten das gleiche wie ein...
