The restaurant caught my eyes from outside as the interior looked cozy and indeed it is. The place is run by a temperament and cheerful Italian gentleman who brings a piece of his country to Linz. We were lucky to get a table without reservation, as the restaurant was quite full even on a weekday evening. Menu offers wide spectrum of pasta with one section dedicated especially to a seafood pasta. There are also other options of meat and fish plus pizza. I went with pizza Daniele and was extremely satisfied. Thin crust with fluffy texture baked just right, with the perfect amount of tasty sauce and cheese. My girlfriend went with Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare (photo related) and was also extremely pleased with texture of spaghetti and flavour of her meal. Plus the presentation is great as both the plates and food are stylish. Overally a very tasty and...

What a disappointment! Nobody greeted us or even noticed us when we entered the premise past 8:30 on a Saturday (July the 13th) evening and waited 5+ minutes. No! We were not under dressed. We were famished so I ran after a waiter after one of the waiters and got us, one of the several empty empty tables. This never happens in Italy. (The staff are Italian, just mentioning to indemnify the Austrians.) We have stayed in Milano, Verona, Venice, Cortina d'Amposa, Firenze, Siena, Bologna, Rome, Naples, Ischia, Catania, Taormina, etc and dined at hundreds of restaurants. The minestroni soup and the antipasto verdura were quite good. However, two Itallian classic dishes, the tagliatelle and the lasagne had the same over tomato pasted and, thereof, over-salty sauce. So, we couldn't take refuge at the Parmesan's flavor. And, we couldn't dare to check...

I think I found a place that tops La Ruffa St Magdalena, which I didn't believe to be possible. Friday evening, the center was full. Looking for a place to eat that still has a table available was a challenge. Joseph was full, Stadtliebe also, La Madrina too. Only Il Caminetto had still availability, so why not give it a try. The service was very good, nice italian hospitality that we are used to. The food was really art. I can't find the words to explain it, but I never had better. I don't know how they prepared the calamari to be knusprig and soft at the same time. The ravioli was also beyond excellent. I am really impressed.

Excellent food, served at a very reasonable waiting time (despite the number of guests at the time) and very friendly staff. My family enjoyed some lamb chops with rosemary potatoes, baked gnocchi and lasagne plus some sides as well as the tiramisu and everyone was very happy with their dishes - my mum said it was the best tiramisu she had in a restaurant so far! Personally, I really appreciate the separate vegan section in the menu which included several interesting options - the spinach cannoli was great! p.S. They have great coffee too :) Would absolutely go back!
