We had just arrived in Austria, and I was excited to finally try some of the local cuisine I’d heard so much about. But with limited time, I opted for a Margherita pizza from Pizzeria Hawaii—it was reasonably priced, and as someone who basically lives on pizza back in the U.S., I figured it couldn’t be any worse than average.
To my surprise, it turned out to be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I devoured the whole thing and was honestly disappointed when it was gone.
So much for trying the local food—I went back for pizza the next two nights as well. I’ll get to the Austrian specialties in the next town.
