Eltoro las tapas Al-Andalus — Restaurant in Stadt Bregenz

We came today looking for a nice restaurant. Since I lived in Granada/Andalusia for a while I was super excited to find a Tapas place.

When we arrived a male servant was super arrogant - telling us - you have to order 3 Tapas per person if you want to sit outside. One of them is between 11€ - 25€. He also said the cheaper ones don‘t count (Olives for example). We were quite irritated and said that 60€ per person is quite a lot, but he said, our normal customers pay that.

I mean seriously - that‘s really an expensive price given the food that they offer. I used to work as an F&B manager at a Four Season restaurant and know high end priced food and what it takes to justify it. While the food was of „good“ quality, the price doesn‘t match the taste nor the presentation at all. It was really basic and in Andalusia people would be shaking heads over the audacity or smile over guests willing to pay the price.

We sat inside and ordered 7 dishes and none of them was really outstanding. The patatas bravas and the broccoli/spinach al andalus where good but nothing special. The tortilla de patata was really good though. Mineral water 0.75L costs over 7€!

If he would have treated us normal and not super arrogant we might have found better words here. The waitress was very friendly though and made the experience better.

The tables outside were mostly empty the whole time we were there. Funny enough - there‘s no special view which would be understandable - it‘s only facing another buildings wall.

All in all - I would never go there again for this price and treatment. Normal prices and common decency we might...

Vorneweg muss ich sagen, dass auch wir des öfteren beim Vorgänger zu Gast waren. Meiner Meinung nach sollte man allerdings jeden Betrieb individuell bewerten. Nur weil ein Betrieb z.B keine gratis "goodies" verteilt, sollte er keine Punkteabzüge bekommen. Auch wäre ja langweilig wenn jeder Betrieb die Selben Produkte anbieten würde. :) Wir bewerten grundsätzlich das Gesamtpaket eines Betriebes, vorrangig Qualität der Speisen und Getränke, und der Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit des Personals. Da werden kleine Fehler auch gerne mal verziehen. Wir waren jedenfalls froh, dass auch der Nachfolger spanische Küche anbietet und waren schon gespannt was uns erwartet. Die Tapas der Karte klingen alle sehr geschmackvoll und die, die wir probiert haben, waren es auch! Alles wurde frisch und ansehnlich zubereitet. Das Aioli war definitiv selbst gemacht, und sehr lecker. Eine Anregung zur Karte wäre in Zukunft vielleicht noch das ein oder andere Tagesgericht, wie zum Beispiel eine Tagespaella, die als Tellergericht zu den Tapas genossen werden kann. Zum Dessert kam dann auch der Koch zum Flambieren an den Tisch - ein grosses Lob an die Küche! Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist ausreichend und Gut. Wir haben einen sehr guten Rioja getrunken.(Preis/Leistung hier top) Einzig der Sangria als Apero war nicht nach meinem Geschmack. Mir war er etwas zu süß, (erinnerte irgendwie an Erdbeersaft) aber auch das ist Geschmackssache. Die speziellen Tequila auf der Karte waren allerdings sehr gut, (ja, es gibt auch gute :D )Salz und Zitrone hat es da gar nicht gebraucht. Der Service ist sehr bemüht und aufmerksam. Der Wein wurde präsentiert und dekantiert wie es sein sollte. (dies wird leider oft gar nicht mehr praktiziert) Ein paar Kleinigkeiten und Abläufe gibt es sicher noch zu verbessern, aber das Unternehmen ist auch noch sehr jung. Wir kommen auf alle...

Host and waiter very professional and welcoming, we had late dinner and despite that we received a very good customer service. Food came very quick(maybe too much, which left us some dilemmas) but overall a pleasant experience. Not much wine and dessert options, and the Patatas Bravas were not sufficient for our taste. Same for the calamari rings, but anything else was on point. Interesting interiors, but not giving 5 stars because staff food containers were over the counter and clearly visible (some pizza boxes)....
