Restaurant Poseidon GmbH — Restaurant in Stadt Bregenz

The Poseidon restaurant is located on the Kornmarktplatz in Bregenz. There are quite a few other restaurants here and it's very close to the city centre of Bregenz.

Greeks are well known for their hospitality and this place is no exception. You will be greeted with a hand shake when you enter and a glass of ouzo will find it's way to your table as soon or even before you are ready to order a drink. Great service, makes you feel welcome right away.

This is a busy place so I would not recommend it for a romantic dinner evening but it's perfect to kick off a night out with your friends or with your family. Also note that Poseidon is offering lunch menus.

Last food I've had there is a piece of lamb with baked potatoes (see picture!) which was really good!

This restaurant has a smoking area so make sure to reserve a table according to your liking. I do not smoke and we sat in the area - it was quite okay (surprisingly), most likely because they have a good air conditioning. It didn't annoy me in the least and I'm usually quite picky when it comes to smoking while I eat.

Parking is available at the big park venue about 2 minutes from the place. You may be lucky and find a spot near the post office or the 'Viva restaurant' but likely you won't. The garage is a bit expensive but you can't avoid coming by car you will not have many other options.

Bottom line: Recommend this greek restaurant in the centre of Bregenz. Good...

I went to Poseidon last Thursday evening. I arrived there around 10:30pm. They welcome me with open arms, when all other restaurants kitchen in Bregenz were closed by 10pm.

The staff is vet friendly and attentive.

Interior is lavishly decorated with columns and Greek statue.

I had an Austrian beer and a glass water. For starters, I opted for the black olive paste bruschetta.

For the main dish I opted for the Athens plate which consisted of 1 Suflaki, 2 Suzuki, 1 Gyros, herb salad with rice.

The different kind of meats: Gyros, Suflaki and Suzuki were an absolute delight, each with unique flavours that just melted in your mouth. The herb salad and rice were good as well.

The staff even provided very nice 2 hot sauces.

Poseidon is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been in Bregenz.

Wir waren gestern Abend im Restaurant Poseidon und es war eine reine Enttäuschung. Bis wir Trinken ( + Essen) bestellen konnten vergingen knapp 15 Minuten. Wir wollten schon aufstehen und gehen kam dann endlich der Kellner. Der sich in der Zwischenzeit laut & lustig mit anderen Personen über Alkohol unterhielt. Bestellt kam dann die Vorspeise:

Oktopus gegrillt (komplett zäh wie Kaugummi, salzig und KALT) obwohl es eine warme Vorspeise sein sollte!

Scampi in Tomatensauce ( komplett über würzt und nur Knoblauch lastig)

Bruschetta mit Oliventapenade ( Die Oliventapenade war sicher nicht selbstgemacht, salzig)

Der unschöne Salat auf allen Tellern wie aus der Verpackung und auch in der Form geschnitten wie aus der Salatbar beim Dönerladen um die Ecke. Wirkliche Köche kennen auch die Balsamico aus der Flasche :-)

Noch nicht mal den Teller abgeräumt was ich mir nach einer Vorspeise erwarte das ich 2-5 Minuten "Pause" habe kam der Hauptgang. Eine Frechheit war das wir selber die Teller der Vorspeise abräumen mussten damit der Hauptgang überhaupt platz hatte am Tisch.

Der Hauptgang: Fleisch komplett ungewürzt und TROCKEN, absolut kein Genuss.

Gyros mit BRATKARTOFFELN und Salat ( Gyros trockener geht's nicht, Bratkartoffeln wurden durch gekochte Kartoffeln ausgetauscht, Salat wurde nicht mehr probiert)

Athen Pitta (Gyros auch hier wirklich nur trocken, Pita ok aber nichts spezielles)

Zarziki nur purer Knoblauch - das hat noch nie eine Gurke gesehen.

Abgesehen vom Essen: WC (w/m) komplett dreckig, staubig, kein WC Papier vorhanden Bedienung unfreundlich, nicht bemüht und vor allem überhaupt nicht am Wohl des Gastes interessiert. es kommt einem so vor als würde man nur warten bis die Gäste wieder gehen. (Friss und geh) *Niemand fragt ob es einem schmeckt / oder würde sich die Mühe machen Salz + Pfeffer zu bringen

Beim Bezahlen ging dann alles sehr schnell, so das uns der Kellner auch wieder loswurde damit die nächsten sitzen können.

Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen. Diese 75.- Euro hätten wir uns ersparen können. Wir empfehlen es wirklich nicht weiter. Leider ist es nicht möglich 0 Punkte zugeben sonst...
